Here's an interesting gallery from the L.A. Times of images from the recent fires we've been having around Los Angeles.
They haven't really affected L.A. proper, except for the tremendous cloud of brown ash that hangs over the city. Los Angeles feels trapped in an eternal twilight, a strange land of the midnight sun. I snapped the shot above of the sun the other day at noon. The 100 degree heat hasn't helped either.
These photographs were released the other day. Has God extinguished his cigarette in the L.A. basin?
