Sex
We were doing a "sex" issue at the magazine I worked for last year, and just for fun I wanted to try something a little racier with the editor's photo, so I asked my friend Manuel if he would agree to shoot some photos. Well it turns out we had a little chemistry, so the shoot was basically an excuse to goof around. We ended up going with a photo that was a bit more conservative than this one, but this was my favorite. Deep inside, there's an exhibitionist just waiting to get out. May 22, 2003.

I remember the issue and photo. One of the things that struck me about your tenure at the magazine was the attention you paid to yourself; a different photo with and related to each editor's page, frequent commentary on your own life. I must admit that at first I was a little put off by what seemed such blatant vanity. But as I have said to you in an earlier comment, this all helped your readers get to know you. I grew to really appreciate it, and I still miss you as editor. And more so with each issue, unfortunately.
So if there's an exhibitionist in there waiting to get out, I say let him out. And let us get to know him, too. I find your honest self-awareness refreshing and helpful.
