From Councilmeber Jeffrey Prang’s newsletter:”PROPOSED CONDO/HOTEL/BAR/RESTAURANT PROJECT AT HOLLOWAY & HACIENDA PLACE The property that formerly housed the International Store at 8465 Holloway Drive at Hacienda Place is under new ownership. The new owners would like to demolish the existing structure which was built about 15 years ago, and replace it with a mixed-used development. The proposed project would, if approved, include 16 condominium units, 20 hotel rooms, and a bar and restaurant. The property owners are inviting members of the community to attend an informational meeting on Monday, July 12, 2004 at City Hall at 6:00 PM in the RSD Hearing Room on the First Floor.
(This is NOT a City-sponsored meeting, but rather, is being hosted by the developer. For information about this meeting, please contact the developer’s representative Matt Fisher at (310 395-4626, ext. 103.)”
I’ll try to find the name of the developers. A proposed 40-story Marriot Hotel on Sunset Boulevard was just shot down in planning meetings. The hotel was technically located in Los Angeles, just east of Crescent Heights, but they failed to address West Hollywood’s environmental concerns and withdrew their application.
