The Dead

A friend of mine recently got a job driving a hearse. When I heard his first couple of stories, I told him that he should start a blog on the subject. A couple of months later and The Hearse: Tales from the Funeral Home is born. So far he's got three entries up, and I think a fascinating and sympathetic perspective on something not a lot of people get to see, except on Six Feet Under. It's as if David Fisher has his own weblog.
By the way, did anyone see Six Feet Under last night, directed by the show's brilliant Exec Producer Alan Poul? Shocking, gripping, incredible TV, and one of the most unique episodes of that show I've ever seen.

at the end of the opening credits (white screen w/ the tree), i always wait to see who's directing, so after i saw the Poul was it, i wondered how the episode would be. it sure was a harrowing one! Michael Hall did a great job of acting- his facial expressions, etc.

Andy,
I agree this was one of the best, if not the best episode I've seen. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire hour. I think I need to see it again to fully appreciate the quality of the direction which was outstanding. And thank you for another timely and insightful post, you're a gem :-)

Michael Hall did a good job and the guy who played Jake did an awesome job as the psycho. The last 40 or so minutes was riveting and disturbing. I loved the way the show went silent during the end credits. I just sat there and pondered the episode.

I literally sat there, paralyzed at the end of the episode as the credits rolled. If this episode doesn't score an award for its acting and/or directing, I'd be VERY surprised!

It was very difficult to watch, but most excellent TV. I am just trying to figure out where this season is going!

Nothing can be "most" unique. Either it is or it isn't. You must have slept through English composition at Vassar.
