I am curious, do you think HRC will get flack for their pursuit of the gay marriage initiative and its influence on the outcome of the election?
Gay marriage is controversial in its own right as a political tool among gays & lesbians and not clearly understood (or supported) by most of America. Because this has been the cornerstone of the gay politic over the pas two years, it finally showed up on 11 state ballots.
Combined with the reality that the 10m new voters were not the 18-24 year old war haters who were supposed to vote for Kerry, but rather an older demographic who were voting on moral issues (abortion & gay marriage), it seems that pushing gay marriage in the current form in fact mobilized more anti gay-marriage/ pro bush voters.
If this election was more about morality than the war (which it seems from the bills that were passed that this may in fact be so) to what extend did having gay marriage on the ballot influence the election overall? There were 3.2m votes against the gay marriage bill in Ohio and Kerry lost the state and thus the election by a mere 130k...
From the looks of it, this election was more about morality and gay marriage than anyone estimated.

Knowing Hilary Clinton as I do, I think you need to rephrase that to Clinton/Obama.

Thanks for the referral to the new blog by Johathan. I enjoyed getting to know him and his talent. Regrettably the film does not appear to be coming to the Phoenix metro area.

Since the Republican party is already quite divided on Bush, and since I am certain everything will go to hell in a handbasket, I foresee a Democratic sweep in '08. Do you think that desperation will be enough to overcome the hurdle of a Black man and a Woman running for office?
I would LOVE to see that happen, but I fear that the core of the nation isn't ready for that... yet. Perhaps that will be the upside to this downward spiral.

Clinton/Obama would win before the opposite. He's too new... She has one term while he has half a term at the point when they need to run. Also, you can pretty much include the 8 years before her term in the Senate as experience.
