Bush: Gay People Less Than Ideal
President Bush spoke to The New York Times on Thursday in a wide-ranging interview in which he surprisingly did not make any mention of gay marriage, but did comment on the Florida law banning gays from adopting children and in a few short sentences used the word "ideal" no less than seven times.
BUSH: "The ideal in society is to raise children with a man and a woman. Private adoption firms can make whatever choice they choose to do. As president, I will always be aiming for the ideal. I don't know this particular case. ...
I just said the ideal is where a child be raised by a man and a woman. That's the ideal world. A married man and a woman. And as governor and as president - when I was governor of Texas my position was that this is the ideal.
And I believe children can receive love from gay couples, but the ideal is - and studies have shown that the ideal is where a child is raised in a married family with a man and a woman."
I'm not sure what studies Bush is referring to but in fact, the American Academy of Pediatrics released a statement in 2002 that said "there is a considerable body of professional literature that suggests children with parents who are homosexual have the same advantages and the same expectations for health, adjustment and development as children whose parents are heterosexual."

Sad to hear your president blabber empty words on the subject. :-) Hope we all bombard him with the truth that the "ideal" president at this time and age doesn't think so backwardly.
Greetings from Manila!!

Implementing one of Bush's other core beliefs, permit me to launch a "preemptive strike" on those likely to spring once again like cockroaches [pun intended] out of their accommodationist closets to blindly defend this troglodyte, as well as on any still braying about how gay groups must stop their criticism and try to "work with him." The man, his administration, and his political machine ARE A LOST CAUSE. Personally knowing and being indebted to gay men, e.g., Ken Mehlman, chair of his reelection campaign and new party head [pun intended] and gay women, e.g., First Dyke Mary Cheney, whom, along with Mehlman, I wish nothing less than a life of endless sleepness nights of shame, has done nothing to open his eyes to their, let alone our, equality. Although invited to the balls and to sup at His Majesty's table, he serves only crumbs of Freedom, such as his hollow blessing of civil unions, while pontificating about Liberty for the rest of the world. Meanwhile back in the pages of the "New York Times" and the chamber pot of the Senate.... Ludicrous gay pundit Rex Wockner has even written that Bush "doesn't personally dislike gays," which begs the epistomological question of "How the hell he would know?" and, the more pragmatic one of "What the hell difference does it make?" Only the emotionally immature, and, perhaps, Sally Field, have ever cared whether Politician X or Employer Y or Business Owner Z actually "likes" us or not. Do not block my various civil liberties and you can hate me all you want, think I'm going to Hell, and boycott Proctor & Gamble, Disney, and every time one of the Q Eye girls shows up to cut the ribbon on a fart. Wockner does, unwittingly, reveal the answer to the oft heard question "How can one be gay and a Republican?" Answer: because, no matter how sexually active they might be, no matter how "out" they might be, there abides in them a visceral belief that they, solely because of their orientation, are inferior, not good enough, unclean. In their minds, only identification with the plastic paragons of propriety, and their reigning dashboard Jesus, can wash it away. Effectively selling their human rights is, to them, a small price to pay for a chance to get into the heaven of "respectability." If only they would just take multiple showers a day....

I think that he is in fact a Gay man, in the closet. He is a member of skull and bones, being he has never walked away from this cult, and has been to the bohemia retreat. There, you are gay, even if you are straight. Not to mention the forced closed mouths of the call on your guys list. If you want to understand what he is doing, understand this, it is not about the gay marriage as it is...who is going to be called into office in the future. When you understand what they are really setting up here, Gays will get their gay marriages.
