Land of Lincoln Passes Gay Rights Bill
The Illinois Senate and House have sent Governor Rod Blagojevich a bill which prohibits discrimination against gays and lesbians in jobs, housing, public accommodations, and credit. "This legislation sends a clear message that we will not allow our citizens to be discriminated against," said Blagojevich.
Rep. Lou Lang, a Democrat from Skokie, added: "This bill isn't about cross-dressing, it isn't about animals. It's not about anything except basic human rights for the citizens of Illinois."

I’m a proud citizen of the Great State of Illinois. We’ve got Democrats in office at the House, Senate and Governors’s office, and a large agenda of liberal activism. Today is a triumph for civil rights, and equal opportunity.
