Drudge tries to Rock the Oscars

Rod at Brotha2Brotha takes Matt Drudge to task for his typically alarmist exclusive on Chris Rock and the Oscars: "February 27th will be a record Oscar night for black actors, with more being nominated than ever before. Coincidentally, it's the first year a black man will host the award show. It's more than coincidental that a political agitator has 'exclusive reports' that the host has made anti-gay remarks."

So what if Drudge reported it. Still true! Probably a lot of the quotes are for shock effect mainly, but why not call Rock on the carpet for his quotes like everyone picks apart everyone else? Could be because he's black? I'll still watch the Oscars, after all I'm one of those few Rock refers to. Kiss, kiss.

Well said, Jason C.

excuse me...but YOUR PRESIDENT(with capital letters) makes anti-gay statements and remarks every other day it seems...why the hell is this Rock character getting any attention over this..?i thought it was only homos who watch that show anyways...(i won't be if i can help it, not unless Ryan Phillippe/Ryan Gosling get noms)...
a non issue. a mis-fired attack on someone seeking to shock to draw attention...working.
shouldn't be.
lame.
focus on the government.

Hey wassup Andy, thanks for the shout-out.
I certainly didn't mean to insult you or anyone else; I'm just as gay and will be riveted to the telecast, lol.
Drudge was being irresponsible by the headlines and his usual innuendo and unnamed sources. I think you and Defamer did a great job putting it all in perspective.
Any-hoo, at least they're getting some new blood in the ceremony. Hopefully he'll be funnier than last year's snooze fest.

I've already e-mailed the Academy that this is one gay man who is NOT watching the Oscars as a result of Rock's comments; and that I am not reading the newspaper supplements that their supporters and advertizers have paid handsomly-for.
My "eyes" and dollars are going elsewhere.
