Dead British Poets Society?
Gay playwright Alan Bennett's The History Boys was named best play at Britain's Critics' Circle Theatre Awards yesterday. The play is set at a Yorkshire grammar school in the 80's and follows a professor with eccentric teaching methods. The 70-year-old Bennett, who used to be a history teacher himself, came out publicly last November in an interview in which he discussed a gay attack he experienced in Italy.
