Maskall Unmasked
Jake Maskall, an actor on the popular Brit soap EastEnders, has announced to Now magazine that he is gay and lives with his boyfriend in north London. "I’m gay and I’ve been with my boyfriend for 12 years. It’s not a secret. But my relationship’s part of my private life and I hope everyone respects my privacy."
Now when's an American actor going to come out with the same nonchalance?
Meanwhile, The Amazing Race 6's Adam (with the devil horns) says he's not gay. "And you know, I do work at a predominantly gay gym and a lot of my clients are gay. I do wear tights, I'm an aerobics teacher, and I don't mind being sensitive. Again, it doesn't bother me at all -- that's just me. I wish the country could see me teach a spinning class, because a lot of people would quickly change their minds."

Ugggg, I go to Adam's "predominately gay gym" (Gold's) and if he's not gay, well, then... if I had antennas I would cut them off!! But for the most part he's simply obnoxious at the gym. Gay or straight is incidental.

Point is, he says he's not gay. Why can't we leave it at that?
I think there's something wrong when everyone starts talking about another's sexuality as if they know the truth simply because of mannerisms or stereotyped ideas or notions, and even after that person's been forced to talk about his/her private life, there are still parts of society who says, "I don't care what he says; I think he's gay and my opinion is more informed than that of the person in question." I know a lot of people on Television Without Pity never let up on it.
It's wrong and disrespectful.
Now, if he's an asshole in general, that's one thing. But he's said he's not gay. I wish people would leave it alone. Even if he were and he's not ready to come out, no one should be forcing him just because they want to or because they think "Living in denial is not living." What crap. For some people, it is.

Not to mention American athletes -- what a positive impact that would have!

I also work out at that "gay gym" and see it every day (unfortunately for me). All I can say is-- the straight world can have him... please!
