Since U Been Driven Nuts by a Pop Song
I realize it's been quite some time since I posted an In Heavy Rotation list, so (those of you who have been asking) expect one sometime soon. I was reminded of this by Jason Kottke's post today about Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" which I have to agree with him creeps up on you like a case of crabs until you're itching so bad you need to run out for some American Idol Rid. Okay, I extended that metaphor a bit far but this song is huge, huge I tell you. I never expected to be reading about Kelly Clarkson on kottke.org ("I owe each of you a sock in the face for introducing me to this maddeningly infectious crap.") but I have to throw my hat in the ring here for enjoying this guilty pleasure — and the Jason Nevins club mix is recommended too. ![]()

yeah - the radio edit did not initially grab me 'till I heard the Nevins club mix. a great lil' ditty. Now if only Mario Vasquez wins the title of "American Idol" and does some club fare.

p.s. - give ms. Kimberley Locke a listen; she a big ol' fag hag and has a presence in the gay community; my gut tells me it's not jus for the pink dollar...

...regarding Jennifer Hudson, last I heard she was performing in 'Hair' assumed it was a regional or touring troupe?

I don't get it. Maybe I listened to the wrong song. It doesn't seem like something I would expect to hear on this site. Is the version you are talking about sung by a male with an acustic guitar? If so I think it's horrible -unless there's a mix I am missing.

Is the Nevins mix on iTunes as well? I couldn't find it.

I am also shocked that I like this song...and her cd for that matter. Good for Kelly. And Josh Gracin has the #1 country single in America. What next, Carmen Rassmussen winning a Grammy? Lord help us.

Carmen does have an album out. YIKES!

Where is LaToya London? Now that girl deserves an album. Puhleez, if Carmen Rasmussen and Josh Gracin can have albums, LaToya should have a Grammy. This year, I'm for Mario Vazquez. That boy is cute and he can entertain.

"Since you been gone" is the #1 most frequently played song on my iTunes. I can't stop listening to it.

Go to ITUNES to find the Jason Nevins mixes. Also check out his website at WWW.JASONNEVINS.COM to hear more of the amazing things he has done. I was completely shocked at how I didnt know of Jason Nevins, but after hearing his Kelly mix- I was hooked. He's amassed a huge body of work, but most of what he does is taking rock songs and adding his own touch to them. This guy is AMAZING !
