  1. Holy shit! I was confirmed in the same cathedral! If they had only known I was gay...

  2. Microsoft - Oh yeah, they are going to boybott Microsoft! So they are going to start using Mac's then? Well sorry, the gays have support from that company too. Too bad the neo-cons don't have enough of a brain to build a computer for themselves. Maybe an abacus could help?

Minnesota Catholics - Bravo to the Rainbow Sash Alliance. This is an excellent form of protest. Empty hands, reaching out for communion, yearning for the holy sacrament, only to be denied by their church, who should be most loving and nurturing. Nice job, really emphasizes the hipocrisy that still exists in the Catholic church.

  3. I, for one, think it is great that the Catholic Church is starting to "come out of the closet" and is standing up for what it believes in. Catholicism is not a "menu" religion. There are some religions that say "believe this core stuff and make up your own mind about the rest." Roman Catholocism -- despite the murky attempts of generations of incompetant priests and nuns and wishy-washy American "believers" to state otherwise, does not work that way -- it is "one-size fits all", "prix fixe" and "no substitutions". After 2000 years of practice, Catholicism doesn't bend for today's trends and bravo to J2P2 and Benedict for working to make that clear.

Why? Because I am sick to death of having people claim that they can be good Catholics and contribute to the Church, even though they don't necessarily agree with everything it says. People need to realize that if they support the Church in any way whatsoever they ARE supporting a knowingly, willfully and deliberately sexist, homophobia and anti-liberal organization. It's a fallacy to think otherwise and people shouldn't be able to talk themselves out of or around that fact.

So, I'm hoping that an openly doctrinaire Chuch will force people to grapple with reality and, instead of wasting their time with a silly protest that the Church will ignore, compel them to walk out the door and not come back. Let the Church be a wolf in wolf's clothing.

  4. yeah, i'm sure Microsoft is as scared of a fundie boycott as it was when gays threatened to boycott. the great thing about being a monopoly is that you don't have too much about your customers' choices.

  5. that should be "you don't have to care too much"

  6. Boycotting Microsoft is akin to Boycotting the weather. They'll stop using that too if gay rainbows keep coming up in the sky in support of gay rights!

  7. i agree with the "pissed parishioner" - you don't like it, there are plenty of other places to worship - even Chrsitina ones, that you would agree with. I just don't get the Catholics who keep hoping for 'reform' - just find a church that matches your beliefs, fer Chrissakes! None of these folks has ever explained what is so great about the Catholic Church that they just can't leave it - especially our most famous Gay Catholic who is terminally threatening to leave - Andrew Sullivan.

  8. Dumb = A recalcitrant catholic church that can't understand they did something wrong by circulating predator priests

Dumber = Gay "catholics" who support an institution which loathes them and threatens their very existence

Dumbest = Gay catholic clerics who directly participate in the church, dedicating their lives to hurting their brethren
