Special counsel: Federal discrimination ban does not cover gays.

Did I read that right? The Bush administration has a ban in place on discrimination against federal employees based on sexual orientation?
I somehow doubt anybody here will be giving Bush any credit for that one.

It's not like bush magnanimously created this protection, though he didn't stike it down either. That said, he's not doing anything to change laws so that we are a protected class. I would fall to the ground and kiss the nearest republicans feet if he did.

The problem is that, once again, the Bush White House is giving lip service...and better than a toothless gay midget I might add! They quote "a longstanding federal policy" that doesn't exist. The laws regarding discrimination in the work place do NOT cover sexual orientation. Just because Bush says it's covered doesn't make it so.
