Spanish Senate rejects the legalization of gay marriage 131-119. Spanish MPs, however, are expected to push it through next week as opinion polls show support.
Seattle Weekly profiles "closet raider" Mike Rogers of BlogActive on the business of outing gay Republicans: "There are a lot of gay men on the right and the left who are doing things for our community, who are living their lives, and I'm not going to report on them. And, yeah, they're engaged in a battle. They're directors of county commissions, or they're closeted members of state and civil commissions. And when the stuff about marriage comes up, they sit in the back room and they manage things and they do what they do. It's not going to benefit me to drag these people out and destroy their names. They're on their journey, man. They're on a journey that you took and I took as gay men. It is a thin line. But it's not like I just go slapping names up. I build a case and cause for every person I expose."
Though same-sex marriage is legal in Massachusetts, the Today show is banning gay couples from their wedding/honeymoon contest.

I wonder if NBC knew that its poor attempt at steering away from controversy by not allowing any gay couple be a part of its wedding/honeymoon contest would instead cause a minor uproar. What were they thinking?! This could have an opportunity for them to shine!

I'm SO glad this made into the blogosphere! I wrote NBC an email and a hand written letter 2 weeks ago about this issue. My partner and I were all ready to apply for this contest, thinking that NBC/Today would jump at the chance to host a gay couple. Then we read the "rules" and discovered that we're excluded, again!
I'm pleased as punch that this is hitting the big time! Maybe I'll get my Today show wedding after all!

I guess NBC thinks people who value fairness and equal treatment don't watch network TV in the morning. I sent an email. How disappointing, especially for a network that has been so vociferous in "valuing diversity".

hello andy....
unfortunate -- not that i really tune into the "today show" for guidance or groundbreaking relevance....i wonder why; perhaps, because this isn't surprising beneath stylist and fluff viewing through the rockefeller center windows.

That margin in the Spanish vote is really impressive - I'd hate to see what a similar vote would look like in the US of Aholes...
