Bush to me is a very disturbed, sinister man.If you look closely at the video, you will notice his gesture was a knee jerk kind of reaction. He was looking down toward the floor
and not pointing at any particular thing. And it's not the first time he's flippped off the cameras.

Isn't it odd that Dan criticizes (rightly or wrongly) the manner in which this clip is presented and uses the word "jackass" and people jump on him. Meanwhile, every other comments refers to Bush as an idiot or a Chimp, sinister, red neck, etc. and there's nary a peep?
I applaud the commenters who, although they do not like Bush, suggest that we focus on more important issues.

Well, whatever it was, it was funny and I wouldn't be surprised if it was his middle finger regardless.
And if you want important issues, I think you should find another blog. It's up to Andy to post what he finds interesting, whether or not it's "important." After all, it's HIS blog.

Ok how does anyone think that is a thumb... do this hold your right hand in front of your face about 6 inches, and make a thumbs up... now move your thumb and hold your index finger in your plam and leave your middle finger up... now which one of those look most like what bush is doing??? I think you will find he is giving us the "BIRD"! and if you still think he is giving a thumbs up, you must have some ugly hands...

Paul, I was referring to the fact that if you want to discuss political issues and critique the President (as some who commented did) there are much bigger issues to worry about than whther or not he flipped off the camera.

I saw this story on MSNBC when it first aired. Bush was leaving a meeting with some legislators, and one of the reporters called out, "Esta CAFTA muerto?" My faulty Spanish transcription notwithstanding, the reporter was asking whether "CAFTA [the Central American Free Trade Agreement] is dead." The talking heads played it off like a thumbs up, and it was hard to make out exactly WHICH finger he was holding up. However I had an inkling that the digit held up was no thumb.
