Former Bush speechwriter Frum: "Again and again during the Bush presidency - and yesterday most recently - the president will agree to give what is advertised in advance as a major speech. An important venue will be chosen. A crowd of thousands will be gathered. The networks will all be invited. And after these elaborate preparations, the president says ... nothing that he has not said a hundred times before...
...If a president continues to do that, he is himself teaching the public and the media to ignore him - especially when the words seem (as his speech yesterday to the VFW seemed) utterly to ignore the past three months of real-world events." (Make your own "Bullshit Protector" like the one 73-year-old Veteran Bill Moyer wore at the Bush VFW speech yesterday. Info here.)

This guy is simply lame. Besides likening gay marriage to divorce (how can marriage be ANYTHING like divorce, regardless of orientation?) he also calls for more church presence in government policy making...maybe he hasn't read The Constitution lately but I believe it calls for a concrete wall between church and state. These "conservative christians" need to not only re-read our government contracts, but they also need to revisit the bible and ask "what would Jesus do?" Would he discriminate? Would he punish? Would he hate? What would he do for a Klondike bar?

Jesus save us from your followers. These Repubs are out of their mind.

Since this is all about protecting marriage, I think we should combine an anti-divorce amendment with the anti-gay amendment. Lets see if the repugs and the extremist right are willing to put up or shut up on this one.

Yeah, but look at what's in the burrito. Guac and sour cream. If you get the "burrito bol" (sans tortilla) and hold the guac, sour cream, and cheese, its much healthier. And Chipotle is one of the healthiest companies when it comes to the quality of their food. Steve's dedicated to high quality ingredients (meat without hormones, etc), that it has even begun to change the way McDonalds corporate approaches things.

Paul, you're wrong about the Burrito Bol being less in fat and calories. Yes, the tortilla makes a little bit of a difference, but Chipotle adds lard to their black beans to extend them, and they add hydrolized vegetable oil to their rice for the same reason...it's the rice and beans that are the killer's here, not the guac and sour cream.

I
know that it is shocking to see how much is actually in a burrito but
when you think about it its not incredibly horrible. That burrito is
gigantic it weighs a lot more than two big macs and in reality should
be way more than one serving. If you are concerned about it then don't
eat an entire burrito in one sitting it is a lot of food. Another
thing to remember is that although the company is owned by McDonald's
it is not run by McDonald's. McDonald's really does not have any say
into the products and ingredients used at the restaurants. Even though
these burritos are fattening the actual content is free of the
"addictive chemicals" you speak of about McDonald's. They try to use
free range pork, chicken, and beef whenever possible, although they
cannot everywhere due to availability. Of course a huge burrito full
of things like cheese, sour cream, rice, beans, and especially
guacomole is going to have fat but it is not nearly on the level of
the fat and additives in McDonald's food. Just wanted to point out the
context
