  1. He said....she said.

I want proof. She's probably being well-paid by some rival team. There are two or three of these types of charges every season and everyone i can recall having been accused is found not guilty.

If he is proved guilty, then I'd be the first to say put him in the slammer.

  2. . . . that was unexpected.

  3. Who'd ever want to stave off sexual advances from Cristiano Ronaldo anyway? Maybe she's a lesbian...

  4. I hope this is not true but if it is what a shame. Even if it is not true, if the story lingers too long his reputation is ruined. Maybe he'll turn gay we are very forgiving of the rich, famous and hot.

  5. Whether this story is true or not, it's gonna have a bad impact on his career.

I find it hard to believe that someone of his stature can do something like this.

He's got the looks and the reputation and I think he can easily get any girl he wants anyway.

  6. I don't thinks it's a matter of "he can get anyone he wants." Kobe Bryant, while not convicted, settled out of court which means some measure of guilt is there. Yeah, these athletes can get anyone they want. Its the "anyones" who say NO that end up posing the problem.

  7. "Who'd ever want to stave off sexual advances from Cristiano Ronaldo anyway? Maybe she's a lesbian..."

WHAT? Women can actually not want to have sex with a particular man and still be heterosexual. Whoever wrote this statement should go back to the Victorian age--he'd fit in well there....

  8. Um, it was a joke asshole. I'm more liberal than you so shut the fuck up.

  9. Isn't Cristi gay? I think this is a publicity stunt.

    Posted by: CHRIS IN N.Y. | Oct 19, 2005 3:50:04 PM

  10. It could be true. It is exactly these rich, gorgeous, narcistic guys that think that no woman in her right mind could say no to them. They just don't get it that 'no' means 'no'. Unfortunatly many times it comes down to he said, she said.

  11. I agree with Chris in LA. No one (who is sexually interested in men) in their right mind would turn him down. If the allegations are true I'll slap her face for turning down one hell of an opportunity.

    You can't rape the willing.

  12. I'd turn him down faster than you can say corner kick.

  13. EASIEST PUBLICITY STUNT EVER

    1) HE DOESN'T HAVE TO DO THE EXPENSIVE LONG tidious DATE A GIRL FOR MONTHS THING AND HOPE TO GET YOUR PIC TAKEN BY A PAPPARAZI

    2) makes him appear macho to latin america (sorry, but YES Latin men are still very much neanderthalls when it comes to their views on sex and women, and latin men are a huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! soccer fan base)

    3) an easily dismissable thing when the girl is paid off as pre-planned to drop the made up charges

    4) free publicity.....his face will be in every newspaper world wide now

Say hello to the NEW David beckham

  14. Well whatever folks, the fact remains is that he's hot. BIG FAN.

    Posted by: Andy W | Oct 19, 2005 5:15:39 PM

  15. The comments on here that trivialize rape are truly disgusting. Granted, he's innocent until proven guilty, but this is not a subject to joke about. I wonder how Chris in L.A. and Andy W would react if this were there mother/sister/daughter. "Oh, get over it mom, he may be a sexual predator who gets off on dominating people weaker than him, but he's hot!!!" Gross.

  16. diddy was frisking posen for proactive formula (diddy's unfortunate infomercial debut). oh and rape is bad. seriously.

  17. How old are some of you. Yes, innocent until proven guilty, etc. I have no idea if he's either. I don't actually care until the trials done. I think out of respect for both parties:
    1. He's no longer a 'person of interest' on Towleroad. If he's innocent, his career will be fine.
    2. Once again, the many idiots here prove that being gay is just a state of being, and therefore, we have exactly as many braindead idiots as the straight world has. Luckily, based on the comments of folks like Matt, Chris, et al we have sane people in our ranks too.
Oh, and Chris in L.A. represents still another subset of both groups: the 'I don't know how to tell a joke, but will yell at you when you go 'huh?' group.' Y'know the Kathi Griffith type. ;-)

  18. this just happened to the Dutch player who plays for Arsenal, Robert Van Persie in Holland before the start of the season. I assume these young good looking rich soccer players have so many 'groupies' that they don't know how to deal with the ones who say no.

But, if you meet a guy at a nightclub, go up to his hotel room......of course we don't know what happened or was said before, during or after.

Anyway, who said he was gay?
