U2's Bono to appear at fundraiser for Senator Rick Santorum?
(via americablog)
New York mayoral candidates battle for the gay vote. Republican Mayor Bloomberg hires former Democratic Manhattan borough President candidate Brian Ellner, who campaigned with a controversial ad featuring a half-naked George W. Bush and his partner, while the Dem. candidate Fernando Ferrer throws a fundraiser at a club in Chelsea.

Well, Brian is doing his damndest to make sure I never vote for him for anything again. First, in the closing days of his campaign, he teamed up with Leslie Crocker Snyder for some joint campaign material. That made me pretty wary, 'cause Ms. Hanging Judge would have been a terrible DA. Now he's campaigning for Bloomberg? Either he really is a Republican at heart, or he is simply willing to do anything and suck up to anyone in a desperate climb up the political ladder. Either way, it ain't pretty.

What's up with Bono shilling for Rick Santorum? that's crazy. Yes, U2 is a band with a purpose and Santorum is a politician with a purpose...that is to cloak himself in the mantle of "faith" while lying all they way to the bank.
I wonder how many conservatives actually think U2 (the band) and U2 (its individual members) actually believe what they believe?

Oh come on, you're going to trust something from NewsMax.com?? The Philadelphia show is just another stop on U2's tour. It's NOT a benefit for Rick Santorum. Check out the comments section on DailyKos:

As one reader writes:
"What's probably happened is that the Santorum campaign purchased a bunch of tickets, or more likely rented a stadium suite, and they're selling tickets to it for $1,000, with the mark-up going to Santorum. If they did the same thing at a Philadelphia Eagles game, Newsmax would probably report that the Eages are going to play a football game on a Sunday as a fundraiser for Rick Santorum."
NewsMax.com is as bad as the Drudge Report. Filled with nothing but Spin.

Ugh, thanks Zeke, that makes sense. I was really shocked and turned off that U2 would do anything to promote Santorum.

love those photo ops. yet, the imprisoning characteristics of social programs that are supposed to help people in turn limiting them ....it's saddening. then again, it would be genius to see beyond the limitations of the internet and disjointed bodies and heads. read a beautiful transcript of a speech that Bono gave for a conference, yet, much won't come to fruition as long as some programming is just a sporting event and people, who are far more comfortable than Bono's subject matter, don't study content of How To dismantle and build beyond current limitations. oh well.....snore, snore, snore.

Brian Ellner is a sell-out. I'm sure even he realizes he's just a pawn in Bloomberg's ill-conceived ploy to snare back gay votes after bungling the gay marriage issue earlier this year. They're both jackasses, Ellner even moreso for comprimising his vision.

Politics is a strange business.
