Word around town is that RAVEN, The Goddess Of Atlanta, who recently left or got fired, from Charlie Brown's Cabaret in Atlanta, GA was working on opening up a drag show at this bar. It was going to be named something else when it reopened. Hmmm.... More as this story develops in town and I hear more news, er,um gossip or whatever!

He should have joined Kappa Sig, I have a ton of friends who, unbeknownst at the time, are gay and went through that fraternity only to find out about each other afterwards.

Haha - no i shouldn't have joined Kappa Sig... here at Cal Poly, i probably wouldn't have gotten in because of my sexuality.
Anyway I am that person who is featured as the gay fraternity guy. Much props to put it in here, a friend of mine showed it to me.
I didn't realize that it'd go this far out online.

Yeah, that bar has been closed for a while now... BTW, RAVEN was fired, which is why they had the Drag Idol contest to replace her. It apparently was a bitchfest centered around Raven undermining Charlie's authority... It almost makes me wish ETC magazine were still around so that Tina Devore could talk about it in "Dragging it out..." or whatever that column was called.
Funny- if Raven actually were opening up a drag bar there, it would seem fitting that it was gutted by a fire when Raven set her hair/wig on fire at Backstreet years ago during her Fire Dance number!

Well Britt,
I was a sponsor of Drag Idol and they aren't actually going to hire another entertainer. This is just a way for Charlie to help out up and coming talent. I asked Charlie if she was going to hire anyone else to take Raven's spot and she said "No, I will never hire another person - it's just the 6 of us now." You know what they say though: Never say never... we shall wait and see! By the way GIGI MONROE won it and this Bitc* is fabulous....
And yes its VERY ironic that the new place for Raven was done in by fire...things that make you go hmmm.... I love Raven as a performer...she rocks...but evidently she is having some probs - and thats ok - we all go through them....

Gigi got a 6 month contract... To me, that's a hiring.... My source is in the cabaret and not Charlie, so I think it's reliable. Rememeber Charlie and Raven also said up to the end that Backstreet was not moving or closing.... I rememebr Raven emailing me and saying "If anyone knew, then I would, and believe me, Backstreet is not closing anytime soon!" A week later....:-)

Well, I can confirm that Gigi Monroe has only a 6 month contract, not a hiring. With her success in Drag Idol, Gigi has formed an Entertainment Group and now is touring the Southeast as well. Her career is soon to take off!!! She is HOT!! Raven...who cares, she also got fired from Sutra for not showing up to her one show a month bookings. That is character for you.
