Paradise Lost?
"The large glass sliders facing the beach are whistling as the pressure lowers. I fear they may shatter. The hurricane shutters have kept up well till now, but the high pitched squealing now echoing from the glass doors is scary." Local reports from those who remained in Cancun...

far be it from me to inject too much common sense into any equation, but why ANYONE makes a conscious decision to stay in the path of a hurricane is beyond reason. i dont care if i had to sit in traffic for 20 hours, ride a mule, or walk, i would leave without hesitation at first word of impending tropical doom.

Cancun...paradise lost? nah. It is a man made beach that washes out with the smallest of storms. Again, why anyone stay in the hotel zone with a category 4 hurricane on it's way is beyond comprehension. Where is Anderson Cooper when you need him?

Anderson Cooper? I think he's busy replenishing his tear ducts. He's been crying us a river so much lately it's little wonder...
I really dug his aggressive questioning during Katrina, but then his new found popularity seemed to turn him into an overemotional Geraldo clone. The video journals he started including in his reporting were so uninteresting. He seemed to think we wanted more sentimentality rather than gutsy interviewing. Wrong.
But maybe I'm the one who's wrong. Am I being too cynical?
