road.jpg REPORT: Fort Bragg gay porn paratroopers moved to secure barracks for their "privacy." Wouldn't you like to be a fly on that wall?

road.jpg A 20-year-old UK student has lost his eye in a vicious anti-gay attack in Londonderry. MP Mark Durkan said the attack "was a savage assault on a completely innocent young man. This attack was fuelled by a sickening homophobia and must be met with vocal and outright rejection, both in Derry and throughout our wider society." There have been a recent series of anti-gay incidents in that city.

road.jpg Senator Sam Brownback has clarified remarks he made in a recent issue of Rolling Stone. The Republican Senator, referring to countries like Sweden that allow gay marriage and civil unions, said "You'll know them by their fruits," a quote from Matthew 7:19. Many took it to mean that Brownback was using "fruits" as a derogatory term for gays.

Images_10Yesterday, Brownback clarified the comments: "While this biblical passage was pertinent to our overall conversation about faith and deeds, it apparently led the writer to believe I was making a joke. I was not and would never do so with such a personal and sensitive issue." Still, some weren't impressed. A spokesman for the HRC said, "It's nice to know that Senator Brownback doesn't resort to name-calling from the 1970s, but unfortunately his anti-gay agenda continues to speak for itself."

  1. 1 - If someone doesn't manage to get a video camera in that sequestered Fort Bragg barracks, I'll know American initiative really did die in 1942.

2 - "We have made a bid. After all, we know he wears two pairs a day as we send them to him. He wants to do a shoot and now it's just finding the time to tie up all the loose ends."

Does anyone else think this reads like a cruisingforsex.com user relating a potential hook-up?

  2. As I was rolling my eyes after Sen. Brownback opened his mouth and his purse fell out... once again, I noticed a front page article in the Kansas City Star entitled 'The dodos have come to Kansas'. Have they ever. A premiere in Kansas for a documentary entitled 'Flock of Dodos: The Evolution-Intelligent Design Circus'.

I'm fully expecting to read tomorrow that Kansas is offering tax benefits to Tupelo's AFA to move to Topeka. After all, uber homophobe Fred Phelps can't live forever.

  4. A friend of mine is on that cruise. This is now the third time I've heard of something like this happening. Makes me glad I hate cruising.

  5. Probably should clarify that the official policy of the Cayman Islands is nondiscrimination including by sexual orientation.

It is a group of whack jobs that is calling for the protest. The radio station in the article is reporting that most of the callers had no issue with the gay cruise coming.

Is it really his face they want?

    >>Cayman Islands

ROBIN Cook, the Foreign Secretary, is putting pressure on five British dependent territories in the West Indies to change their laws banning homosexual acts between consenting adults.

The Foreign Office focused on the strict anti-homosexual laws in the British Virgin Islands, the Turks and Caicos Islands, Anguilla, Montserrat and the Cayman Islands immediately after the general election, despite being told that prosecutions were virtually unheard of. "It is not a problem, never has been a problem and not something we ever think of," said a dependent territories government official. "We would prefer it if the British Government would be concerned about something that really matters."

The Foreign Office said that the pressure on the dependent territories to relax their homosexuality laws did not arise from the recent decision by the Cayman Islands to ban an American cruise ship for homosexuals from docking at Grand Cayman.

Thomas Jefferson, the Cayman Islands' minister for tourism, commerce and transport, told the owners of the Leeward: "Careful research and prior experience has led us to conclude that we cannot count on this group to uphold the standards of appropriate behaviour expected of visitors to the Cayman Islands."

American homosexuals called for a boycott of the Caymans and the cruise organisers, based in Hollywood, California, complained of a "remarkable homophobic act of inhospitality." The Dependent Territories' Association said there were strong feelings among some Caribbeans about homosexuality, but governments recognised that times were changing and were talking to the Foreign Office.
