Swimming pool kiss gets gay couple tossed from Mexican hotel.
As a result of a brief kiss in the hotel pool, Gerardo Eliud and his partner Samir Habdu were reportedly thrown into the street with their luggage by security at the Hotel Presidente Intercontinental in Los Cabos and told, "We don't like faggots." The couple, who live in Mexico City, had chosen the hotel because of its stated gay-friendly policy. The hotel disputes their version of events and following the incident, lawmakers in the staunchly Catholic country refused to take up the discussion of intolerance in Congress.

oh please, that is the oldest homophobic excuse in the book.
I can't count the number of times I've heard straights accuse us of coming on to them as a excuse for abuse.
The worst part is people believe it and then get this "they get what they deserve" attitude. wake up and smell the coffee folks.

Larry,
Even if they were making advances towards other guests, why should they be treated any different than a straight couple that did the same thing? I hardly think they would have tossed a straight out on their asses in such a situation and neither should they have done so with a gay couple. If the hotel was uncomfortable with their making advances at other guests the appropriate action would have been to ask them to stop. Clearly, this is a situation where the excuse they used to "toss" them from the hotel had nothing to do with their behavior and far more to do with their bigoted and prejudiced attitude. I certainly don't think you'd appreciate being tossed merely because you're gay, would you? No? Then why should they?

"Sexual predators" is easily assigned to gays in Mexico because it is easily believed. Like when someone gets something stolen in the south they say "it was a black guy" because they know it will be believed.
The Jamaica is rough too. I wonder if anyone there learns anything from these types of incidents. I mean other than, "let's get the hell out of Jamaica."

This shit is why Ricky Martin's lack of a beard or fake marriage is so refreshing, but then he's not from Mexico. On the other hand, he & others have been linked with humpy crooner Alejandro Fernandez, who has very hi-profile Tom Cruise-like romances but is rumored to be fairly omniverous. (The same was said of Alejandro's father, ranchero legend Vicente Fernandez)

What is the consensus amongst gays, is Ricky Martin gay? I know those beach pics were pretty hot but maybe the guy really was his personal trainer. I mean, they were doing leg lifts....of an excersisical nature (hehe).
Freddie Mercury refered to his partner of his final 9 years as his "gardener". Is this the same situation? Do gay people really think Ricky Martin is gay? Just wondering 'cause I feel like I'm out of the loop on this one.

Dude, give me a reason other than pure lust. It didn't work for Tom Cruise though admittedly Tom was never near as hot as Ricky but why is it that - other than his hotness - gay men think he is gay? I need some friggin evidence. If not pictorially, theoretically. With Tom Cruise there was evidence thanks to his apparent asexuality but what is it about Ricky? We have traveled all over Mexico, as a gay couple. Even to very rural towns. And never had any problems, Nebraska is more dangerous. Grow up.

Yeah, Gerardo Eliud, Samir Habdu and any other gay person who has been targeted, attacked, murdered in Mexico because they're gay should grow up. Just because they were thrown out of a hotel and called faggots is no reason for them to complain since Brent has never had any problems. They're such babies. Boo hoo. They should be lucky they weren't actually killed. Yeah. Hopfully they have learned their lesson.

The person training with Ricky Martin at the beach is supposed to be his brother. Even if they are not brothers I doubt they are getting it on. Body language says so.
