Recently out Star Trek actor George Takei is Howard Stern's new announcer.
The Southern Baptist Convention says it has no plans to remove Lonnie Latham, the anti-gay Tulsa pastor who was arrested for offering to engage in oral sex with a plainclothes police officer last week. (via raw story)
Is the NEH flagging certain grant applications to follow its anti-gay agenda? One applicant thinks so and is speaking out.
Via virtual matter comes this bit of political philosophy from Morrissey:
"I find myself opposing barbarism, that's all. People like Blair and Bush have proved that in order to succeed in politics you must be cruel and morally bankrupt. I see no difference between Blair or Bush and Saddam Hussein - all egotistical dictators. Perhaps the only difference is that Blair and Bush do it with a smile. Murder and smile .... as Shakespeare said. Good people do not succeed in politics - it's impossible." Like the Moz has always said, barbarism begins at home.

I'm curious, should they remove him for being gay or for being a hypocrite?
Leaving him there strikes me as an act of tolerance...right?

Jessica H. Christ. I was unimpressed with Takei coming out light years after his acting career was over, but it was a microscopic irritation as "career" in his case was an exageration anyway. But going to work for oozing slime like Stern, who regularly mocks us--regardless of any support Stern might feel or have expressed for our civil rights--is beyond the pale. Taking my antiemetic now.

The Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary which is down the road from me in Fort Worth, Texas has more gays than any gay bar in town.
Happy New Year, Andy and thanks for keeping this Texan informed and entertained! Towleroad is the best.

The preacher resigned yesterday. He still says he was setup.
What an idiot. He was registered at the OKC Gay Sex resort for God's sake. Yeah, setup sure. His room was right in the middle of the troll stroll.
Typical though, I have been approached by more deacons, preachers, ministers and church leaders then you can imagine. Any gay man here in Tulsa on the internet has had similar experiences.
