Elton John Oscar party (his 14th) to be most lavish yet...
News Corp launches cellphone entertainment production studio. "So far, Mobizzo has acquired some of its 2,000 pieces of content from the unlikeliest places: a Hollywood tattoo designer, a Chinese art collective and a Los Angeles street artist."
Bush approval rating drops to 34%.
A brief introduction to The Real World: Key West's openly gay contestant Tyler, his bad back, and his reasons for doing the show: "The series was an opportunity for me to get to know myself, and to better understand the relationships that I've had in the past. It's definitely not about Tyler going out to gay clubs and trying to get laid." If you'll remember, we offered a bit of an introduction last year. The new season premieres tonight at 10 pm.

Tom Ford to open "an old-fashioned men's haberdashery and tailor" on Madison and 70th in New York that will sell made-to-order clothing for the man "who doesn't want to look like a banker, but does not want either to look trendy, silly or too much of a fashion victim." As for his career in film? "I've structured some time to make movies. It may never happen, or it may happen in three years. I don't have anything new to say in that world yet."

When I try to click on the link "Anderson Cooper gets a pearl necklace" my Spyware Doctor program pops up and says it is a potentially harmful site and blocks it. Just a note of warning to others.

I've been to Mardi Gras before. I know that to "earn" these beads, one might have to show off their "assets."
Oh, Anderson. What have you done!?

it's an article from the nyTimes....go to their site
I just have to say 10,000 sq ft is NOT "old fashioned"

NewsBusters busts CBS latest poll:
CBS Slants Bush Poll in Favor of Democrats
Posted by Greg Sheffield on February 28, 2006 - 08:57.
In its classic "fair and balanced" tradition, CBS slanted in favor of Democrats its poll that found Bush has a 34 percent approval rating and a 59 percent disapproval rating, an all-time high for a CBS poll.
On the bottom of the PDF version of the poll (page 18) it says how many Democrats versus Republicans were contacted.
"Total Republicans" contacted: 272 unweighted and 289 weighted.
"Total Democrats" contacted: 409 unweighted and 381 weighted.
"Total Independents" contacted: 337 unweighted and 348 weighted.
Brent Baker also noted how CBS failed to highlight a key portion of its poll on the Feb. 27 "CBS Evening News." 66 percent of respondents thought the media devoted "too much time" to Cheney's hunting accident.

Tom,
Nice try passing off right-wing drivelsite "Newsbusters" as some kind of independent media watchdog.
Even Foxnews polls can't hide your Golden Douchebag's quick descent.
For your own sake, change course before the next Nuremberg Trials.

Congrats to the Utah teens for their courage and activism. GSA's are badly needed at high schools everywhere.

Oh Anderson, a simple white one would have been so much more practical.
Posted by: Mike in the Tundra | Feb 28, 2006 11:36:01 AM
Ah, typicial liberal diversionary debate tactics. Viva tries to impune the source, rather than face the raw facts exposed in the bad polling data. Since these facts have gone unchallenged, Tom wins this debate, Viva loses. This poll is bogus.
But cheer up liberals, this is a CBS poll! You can always make yourselves feel better by calling is "fake but accurate."

Cato,
Did you know that the world is becoming less and less conservative? (I got this info from neo-con David Frum of the American Enterprise Institute who left Canada for the US attempting to find more conservatism.) Whatever will you do?
~~~
Tom Ford continues to play his cards close to his chest and, oh yeah, looks ABsoLUTEly aMAzing in these PHOTOS!
~~~
Great on Anderson Cooper's ongoing New Orleans support. (Not sure he is aging well anymore.)
Posted by: Gilli | Feb 28, 2006 12:24:35 PM
Gee, Cato, like every other poll regarding Bush hasn't been slanted towards Republicans? Is this another instance of you can dish it out, but can't take it? Or is this just another case of whiny-ass titty-babyism?
Posted by: Tread | Feb 28, 2006 12:25:48 PM
I find it staggering that 34% were satisfied with the job Bush is doing. Unbelievable!
Posted by: Michael W. | Feb 28, 2006 12:36:29 PM
Cato,
Oh please. As Tread pointed out, polling services like Gallup consistently poll more Repubs than Dems.
Or maybe people are just switching party affiliation now that they see what a NeoCON job the Republican Party has pulled on the nation...
Posted by: Viva Korman | Feb 28, 2006 2:48:04 PM
NeoCON job? As in 'I gave the republican a neocon job but wouldn't let him cum?'
I can use this!
Posted by: david | Feb 28, 2006 4:25:25 PM
Or maybe, after the Dubai Ports situation, the continuing destruction of American youth in Iraq and a giant-sized embarrassment over the hurricane; CBS couldn't find 50% of potential respondents willing to call themselves Republican.
Incidentally, isn't citing Newsbusters as a credible source for media information sort of like hiring Tom Cruise to do a PBS special on psychiatry?

Tom, Cato: Just repeat after me: Nicht schuldig. Ich war nur folgende Aufträge. Nicht schuldig. Ich war nur folgende Aufträge. Nicht schuldig. Ich war nur folgende Aufträge. Nicht schuldig. Ich war nur folgende Aufträge.

For whatever point you are trying to make, Leland, your German is, uh, not correct, to put it mildly.

"Ah, typicial liberal diversionary debate tactics. Impune the source, rather than face the raw facts."
Ah, typical right-wing diversionary debate tactic; accuse your opponent of engaging in said tactics which are in fact honed, owned, copy written, trademarked and patent pending held by right-wing conservatives and then engage in said tactics yourself and like you’re only defending yourself.
The world is changing Cato & Tom. Your divisive war tactics are wearing thin and soon you’re going to have to learn how to be gay all on your own without your right-wing daddies to guide you.
Don’t worry. If you’re cute maybe we’ll take you back.
