That woman is a pig. It pleases me to no end that her karmic return was swift.
Poor tourist. why'd he go to texas anyway?

"Very Large Woman Explodes" I love when fat people explode.
When the "very large" woman failed to end her call, Ms Clayton again touched her on the shoulder and that was when the woman exploded.

My question, " who was the off duty police officer ? Did he enjoy the movie ?
Posted by: DH | Feb 13, 2006 6:57:25 PM
I hope the fine is larger for the cell-phone user who "invaded" the air-space of all in the cinema by talking on her phone, shouting a profanity and then causing 2 further commotions in the cinema by leaving and then returning with police officers. In fact I hope they lock her up.

I was watching "Good Night and Good Luck" yesterday and bitches in there were rude. Mind you, I was the youngest one there by about 20 years, but I thought old folks had manners. They were all talking and explaining shit to each other at conversational volume. I finally leaned back and said, "I know you must not realize it because you lost your hearing about the time you bought those stirrup pants, but you are talking very loudly and annoying everyone." Or I wish I would have.

Leave it to a Texan to ruin a movie... or a country... whichever!
Posted by: Remi | Feb 13, 2006 8:14:49 PM
This would make a good episode of "Boondocks" especially since the woman on the phone pressed charges over a small issue to her own demise... dumb freakin ho.

She was 'fat' AND 'American'?? No shit. Anyway, for using a phone in the cinema they should've just strung the bitch up.

Rick, in Texas, she was probably fat and Mexican.
As I recall, Texas allows you to carry concealed handguns into theatres. That ought to be enough reason for people to be more polite.

Yeah Jay, "probably fat and Mexican", or better yet, Jay... since it was near Houston, why not say that she was a black refugee from New Orleans... 'cause we all know that white Americans can NEVER be fat or obnoxious... Or maybe, just maybe... if we say that she was drunk... she could be Irish... or maybe... if she was sporting a mullet... why not a lesbian? Jay, you're a hoot!

Life in prison for people who talk loud enough in a movie theatre to be heard more than two people away. The death penalty for people who allow their cell phones to ring during a movie—regardless of whether or not they answer it. The first time I saw Brokeback was in San Francisco and some queen's cell phone went off during the scene between Ennis and Jack's parents. His girlfriends just laughed. Of course, in San Francisco, most gay men would cut their dicks off before giving up their cell phones, and at least their balls rather than have to go anywhere without their baby bottle, I mean their Starbucks/Tullys/Whatever coffee glued to their hands.

It never fails to amaze me the undecurrents of racism and hatism that gay men have. Read some of the above comments and tell me otherwise.

According to census data, it's about as likely she was white as not. Sorry you didn't like my remark, Remi. I meant no offense. I guess it's just the illegal alien thing on my mind....
White persons, not of Hispanic/Latino origin, percent, 2000 52.4%
Persons of Hispanic or Latino origin, percent, 2000 32.0%
Black or African American persons, percent, 2000 11.5%

sad world. Can't think of anything more ridiculous.

This story is fodder for "Judge Judy". I detest cell phones.
The worst are those freaking NexTel phones. So far, only inconsiderate morons seem to have bought them. When I am subject to listening to a NexTel conversation, I find myself breaking into my impersonation of a young Jerry Lewis "Hey LAAAAADY!!!!". Sure, I usually get a really mean stare, but the conversation usually then moves away.

When I read the title of this post I assumed (mistakenly) that the altercation was between some homophobic straight man (who was dragged there by his girlfriend) and a gay guy. Boy was I wrong! Actually, I have no basis for my initial assumtion, since I've seen the movie four times, and there has never been any negative comments by any straight guys in the audiences. Guess I was just expecting it to happen sometime.

People, does it matter if the woman on the cell phone was white, black, Mexican, Asian, etc... it is just plain rude to do that. But what's more rude is to resort to bigotry in an attempt to be humerous. It's not funny and just shows your true nature. How are straight people suppose to have any compasion and empathy for our cause if we can't do the same for non-white people? Let's keep our eye on what truly matters...equality for all.

Randy: You're absolutely correct. I'll be honest and admit that when I read the article I had a mental image of Nell Carter. Yep, the prejudicial stereotypes are alive and well in this particular gay man. I'm saddened to face my reality.
Posted by: JT | Feb 14, 2006 9:19:57 AM
To say she was probably not American, but Mexican, is to imply only white people can be American...so much for our open minded "diverse community". Dumb ass.
Posted by: JS | Feb 14, 2006 12:21:03 PM
She was probably calling to tell her friend the movie wasn’t worth it and not to bother. If she uses this defense she will probably get off. Especially in Texas It is nice to see racism is alive and well in such a politically correct blog.
