Netflix lets users violate rules for gay movies — homophobia condoned.
The joy of air travel. Airlines lost 30 million bags in 2005. 200,000 never saw their owners again.

Students at Lee University help clean anti-gay slur from the side of the Soulforce Equality Ride Bus. The bus was recently tagged with the word "Fags-mobile." Co-director Reitan: ""These wonderful students have done a great service by wiping away the stain of homophobia from our bus. Let's hope they can go back to their school and wipe away the stain anti-gay discrimination that still goes on every day at Lee."
San Francisco Archbishop George Niederauer wants the Archdiocese to help find a way to place adoptees with families even though he realizes the church's views on homosexuality are at odds with placing children in same-sex households: "Our teaching on marriage and family life precludes these kinds of adoptions," Healy said. "We need to find another way to help this vulnerable population. How, remains to be worked out." Most recently, the Archbishop has made some refreshing statements on pedophilia and the fact that it should not be linked with homosexuality.

The Netflix story is disturbing. I just wrote them an e-mail of complaint. I suppose it's freedom of speech, but, still, it's awful that people are using a movie review function to blast homosexuality.

Methinks that the new SF archbishop is merely seeking support from Catholic Ahnold to mimic Mormon Romney and introduce an exception for Catholic Charities adoption in CA.
There is, according to Roman Catholic belief, enunciated clearly in 1870 at Vatican I along with infallibility, ex cathedra fidei, that the pope is also the universal bishop of all RC dioceses worldwide. It makes the bishops "ordinary" in RC dioceses merely surrogates who serve at the pleasure of the pope, and can be removed solely by him.

"I’m one of those people who think that sex should be a cherished experience between a man and woman who are married. I love good movies (and Brokeback Mountain may very well be one), but it saddens me to see how many films today endorse promiscuity, infidelity, and homosexuality. Such films are detrimental to families and society. So many talented people put so much time, effort, and money into making good films that are tainted by “mature” (immature?) content. But who can make a good film that’s also clean? That’s the real challenge. I wish more filmmakers would step up to the plate and deliver."
I had to go to the 2nd page to find this one. If that kind of review is allowed then it should really be no-holds-barred in the review section of their site.

I am actually amazed at some of the foul language that Netflix allows in their reviews. I was also embarrassed by the comment from one gay guy who reviewed the movie as follows:
ButtPlug AIDS boy

I'd eat Jake's feces. Heath you can keep (kinda creepy). It's a shame there's not an AIDS message at the end of the movie.
This doesn't strike me as an appropriate forum (Netflix) to post such a comment. Let alone the image it projects of gay society. Very uncooth. Not helping the cause.
Just my two cents.

If I were a theocon, and wanted to project a negative result, I would first post a comment like Chad found on page two, and then have a cohort post the one found by Donaldo.
Dirty tricks in the cause of a fascist state is no vice where they are concerned. It has worked as a modern American political tool since Tricky Dicky.

I can't imagine any gay person would think ButtPlug AIDS Boy was really gay but I suppose there are bound to be straights dumb enough to believe it. Hopfully they're all homebound.
