Because Gay Boys Can't Play Sports

Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher laid into his home team of England and David Beckham, "dubbing him a nancy boy," according to The Daily Record. Gallagher: "At times, the England players seem to play like women, Beckham and others, they're gay boys. I'm not one of those people who are that patriotic when it comes to the England team. I think that if you play direct football and deserve to win, you win."
Becks, who lately has been running around with a groin injury, used to push the envelope much harder on his public image, but shame on Gallagher. I'd like to see him try his hand at football.
Football fans have been notoriously homophobic in the past. Yesterday a reader sent in this video from Belgrade's first gay pride march back in 2001, when a rowdy group of football fans attacked the marchers. Pretty scary.

Re: the video from Belgrade, Serbia; I wouldn't say those fans were rowdy. They were nearly homicidal. And what's worse is that the priest shown later in the video was helping to instigate the attacks. Serbia has a long way to go when it comes to acceptance of gays.

Serbia doesn't just have a long way to go regarding acceptance of gays... after a long and bloody genocidal war, they have a long way to go just to regain some semblance of civility. After what that region endured not so long ago, is it any wonder that they behave like animals at the slightest provocation? Gays have always been the glue that unifies previously rival bigots... it must feel great knowing that there's a group of people out there that they can all agree on...

That is the worst picture of Becks that I have ever seen.

That video is so disgusting...and it wont be the last. it is open season on gays. If there are no laws to protect us, we will be in the same situation. If we aren't already there.

Liam who?

Does anyone listen to Liam Gallagher anymore? I mean thats if he can stay sober long enough to complete a sentence. Oasis had alot of promise before all the drama between him and his brother. Liam has to be one of the biggest DIVAS in rock with a serious superiority complex. And that last album... wtf is that shit!?

I think Liam's funny. I don't think it's homophobia (yawn) or any great threat guys - keep your knickers on! Comments like this are said ' tongue in cheek' and are said to get a rise which it obviously has. It's a british thing. What happened to having a laugh at ourselves - it's character building you know....

If it was widely understood that gays carried guns and were willing to get their cloths dirty in a scrap, we wouldn't be hearing about so many anti-gay attacks.

The stereotype of the gay male was always the alphamale until Oscar Wilde made foppish behaviour a new stereotypic definition that remains in vogue today.
The fact that Oscar Wilde was heterosexually married, and that his progeny today are all heterosexual (the grandson is gay-affirming), was not reinforced, so the mincing queen is still the desired Hollywood cultural icon.
After all, they gave Hoffman the best actor nod for playing a sexless bitchy beta male icon, didn't they?

That's why no one cared that Rosie was gay. No one was suprised that Elton & Boy George were gay but they still had to stay in the closet for a while, go back into the closet in th 80's or dance that stupid 'bi-sexual' line when the gay rumors got hot at a time when being bisexual actually got a guy girls.
Freddie Mercury & Rob Halford for instance had to keep their door shut because having a macho persona (put on or not) made them sexual and sexual gay people are threatening whereas fat, femme, eunechs are not. The fact that Freddie was not entirley macho off stage was attributed to being British as was Elton. Even then he stifled himself in interviews, trying very hard not to queen out. That's why they limited his time in front of camera interviews in the states in the late 70's/80's.
If I were the type to generalize I'd say straight people are woefully insecure.

Oasis is so 90s. What a loser.

Oasis keep themselves in the papers the same way Boy George, George Michael have sans the drug convictions.

Can you believe this Gallagher twat. He's a has-been that every now and then tries to make the headlines in the newspapers with a politically incorrect rant. Stick two the pathetic 3 chord dirges Mr Gallagher, or you might find a big Gayboy will punch your stupid face and perhaps improve it! One thing's for sure...with a face like that and from what I'm reliably told his lack of substance in the trouser department(yes a cock the size of a Needle! This was confirmed by my brother who was at a party and saw in in the gents)He doesn't need to worry about about any gay man being attracted to him!!!!!
