I think it is the 24hour bash report on this site. Thats the problem with global gay news alerts, It sounds like its happening down the street no matter what corner of the globe the story originates. For the jet setters out there this is like a weather report.

CJ, I think the hate crimes are increasing. It's not because we're reading more about it. I've read The Advocate, PlanetOut, etc. for years, and this is new. I blame the right wing pseudo-Christians and the GOP. They're anti-gay rhetoric is filled with lies about us. They constantly say how horrible we are. They amend their constitutions to deny us rights. Then some low intellect, easy to influence, young males hear all this. In their minds, they see gays as less than human. They feel that they're doing the will of the churches and the government when they attack gays.

Where do we get accurate statistics on the number of reported hate crimes? Without that, this is like a "rash" of shart attacks a couple of years back that were so widely reported when in fact that number of shark attacks were down that year in spite of over reporting. Same with "rash" of child abductions a few years back.
