Jake Gyllenhaal Skates the Streets of Manhattan

Jake_gyllenhaal_skate_1

Jake Gyllenhaal has been spotted skateboarding all over lower Manhattan the past few days, prompting warnings from some gossip columnists in the know: "Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted yesterday "at 9:40 a.m., in a green T-shirt and sunglasses and riding on a skateboard, speeding by the Two Boots Pizzeria on Seventh Ave.," according to a tipster. Word to the wise, Jakey: Better stay off Eighth Ave. - in that part of town, you might not make it back alive."

But who's he busy on the phone with is the real question? Perhaps it's his BFF Austin Nichols calling to borrow his cycling outfit again...

  1. Andy, you are so incorrigible!!!

Hey, has anyone told you that you and Michael Owen could be sibs? You both look terribly yummy!!

  2. Don't all straight guys share spandex? What's wrong with that? LOL!

  3. What's Jake doing visiting Manhattan? Visiting Heath?

  4. i dont like the whole beard thing going on.... :-\

  5. I honestly don't think they are sharing the same jacket. Although the jackets for the most part are identical, the black symbol that's located near the collar seems to be diffrent on each of the guys. Granted...one can dream. *le sigh*

  6. for the first time jake's making me think of John-John.

  7. Some enterprising geeks - I mean fans! - have enlarged both photos and the logo appears differently on Jake's shirt because the strap from his helmet is hanging down and obscuring it slightly.

  8. Hmm, could it be that they're on the same cycling team? It's so lame to speculate on the sexuality of straight people.

  9. Ss...,

The beard thing is to "hide". Of course, this doesn't work and totally takes away from his good looks.

In other news, John Travolta to play JR Ewing? Ugh.

  10. OHMAGAWH! He was right by my house!

  11. Maybe Jake is hanging out in Brooklyn now, which is where Mr. Ledger has his home.

  12. Can I say again that, although I never thought this Jake guy such hot shit, he keeps presenting this appealing, seemingly natural, nice-guy, maybe-doofus air that knocks me out? With every street shot taken, he gets more and more so damn LIKEABLE.

  13. Jake is definately a hottie, and I think he looks just as great with the beard as he does without it. Straight, yes, but who cares...get him drunk and offer him a back rub and then let's see who's straight ;)

  14. jeez...
maybe he will break his leg on the skateboard..he'd look hot on crutches..all jocklike, athletic, and VULNERABLE.

  15. He's just totally lickable...I men likeable period.

  16. I read about Jake this morning and took a mental note -- that's where I walk my dog every day. Well, this afternoon, while walking my dog, Jake skates right in front of me, literally, with paparazzi chasing. If I didn't read towleroad, I wouldn't have even known to have looked.

  17. Isn't Jake just a little too old, and just a little too famous, to be skate boarding around Manhattan? A.J. said it... He's channelling John Jr. with his dicey public appearances. I think it's very brave, but not very wise.

There comes a point in the life of a celebrity, when safety outweighs freedom. It looks like Jake is pushing the envelope a bit. Being the rebel. Gotta love him.

  18. "Isn't Jake just a little too old, and just a little too famous, to be skate boarding around Manhattan?"

Sorry, Jay Croce...I wasn't aware of the age restrictions. Please inform me.

I might add my 69-year-old friend picked up snowboarding about 2 years ago. Good on her. She loves it.

  19. How come there is no pics of Heath & Jake in NY. He is the godfather of Heath's baby girl, right?

  20. Am I the only one here that's kind of turned on for the idea of Jake riding around in tight cycling shorts?

    Posted by: DT | Apr 22, 2006 6:06:16 PM

  21. Love Jake pics, but do the paprazzi ever leave him alone? This is getting kind of insane.

    Posted by: CJ | Apr 22, 2006 7:16:00 PM

  22. I might add that I notice (and liked) the Prefontaine shirts.

Posted by: Lady Heather | Apr 23, 2006 4:59:57 AM

  23. What is the problem with the beard? Beards are just it right now. He need a nice cropped head to go with it.

Posted by: Peter Rivendell | Apr 23, 2006 9:35:54 PM

  24. OMG, I love Jake. And he's wearing a Prefontaine shirt-- gotta love it as I am from Oregon.

And, I think it's cute that he and Austin either buy or wear the same clothes. My partner and I buy duplicates of everything. Of course, now that we're moving in together I guess we'll have to have a yard sale...LOL

So guys, what do you think? Is Jake bi or gay or straight? I've asked lots of gay men and no one seems to know.
