Vernon Robinson is Back with Another Ugly Ad
Remember Vernon Robinson's ugly "Twilight Zone" ad that I posted about last March? Here's a reminder for those who don't. (youtube link via wonkette)
And here's a new radio spot he's using in his North Carolina congressional campaign agains Democrat Brad Miller. Its message is just as ugly:
"Brad Miller supports gay marriage and sponsored a bill to let American homosexuals bring their foreign homosexual lovers to this country on a marriage visa. If Miller had his way America would be nothing but one big fiesta for illegal aliens and homosexuals. But if you elect Vernon Robinson, that party's over."

ANDY TOPPED BY NICK LACHEY whose shirt barely hangs off his muscular shoulders and exposed luscious chest, his thick-lipped mouth and arms wide open, the teasing waistband of his black Calvin's an invitation to the big Nick that lies below, Lachey....Now that I have your attention: check out page 20 of the latest "Advocate" where there's a photo and brief Q&A with Mr. Towleroad himself under a picture of the former lackey for the horse-mounthed, talentless, boob-for-brains Ms. Simpson. Clearly, Andy should have been on top.

i can't believe that this hate is shown on tv and heard on the radio, i can say bad things about the southerners or bigots, but i will not. this is the kind of ignorance and uneducated propaganda that we as homosexuals have to deal with, that have to face in this american society that is so unwelling to understand and accept that there are other people in this world who are different then themselves, this shit makes me want to say to all the MO's in the usa, lets pack our lovely selves and go to a different country, that is smart enough to understand that we are all different, that we are all humans and the things that makes us different are the things that make us one, LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING.

Ugh! Wow! I am shocked beyond belief. What is it about people and their hatred for things they misunderstand?

Is that legal? Can you put that kind of stuff (ie. hatred) on TV and get away with it? Isn't it tantermount to inciting racial and homphobic violence?
Shocking, but sadly i bet the guy is really popular in the states.

The TV spot ran a while back (I'm not sure if it actually was broadcast or ran on Robinson's website). Nevertheless, it was pulled after it started receiving a lot of negative attention, but not before people could copy it for posterity evidence. As far as I know, the radio spot, which is equally heinous, is running now.

If anyone out there is interested in learning more about the Uniting American Families Act you can check out www.ImmigrationEquality.org and read about the 100+ courageous sponsors of this legislation.
To my knowledge, this is the first time our bill has come under direct attack in a campaign since it was first introduced in 2000 as the Permanent Partners Immigration Act. Back in the day, Bob Barr (R-GA) spewed forth the charge that it would be impossible for immigration officials to differentiate between a "permanent partner" and a "sex partner" of a gay or lesbian American.
Robinson's attack demonstrates the tremendous value of coalition building for the advancement of equality, freedom and human rights. Strengthening ties between gay rights groups and African American and Latino/Hispanic communities and building support by U.S. citizens of all races for immigrants under attack would isolate Robinson (to the extent that he hasn't already isolated himself out there on the nutty fringe of the right wing).
Thanks, Andy, for increasing awarenes of Robinson's vile campaign tactics.

I don't know about sending "That" back to the twilight zone. Vernon wants to send America back to the fifties.
