News: The Scream, Chelsea Clinton, Marcus Schenkenberg

road.jpg Bush administration to pay $20 million to promote more positive coverage of news coming out of Iraq.

road.jpg Announced earlier this month, on Monday night at an official ceremony, the National Tennis Center was renamed for Billie Jean King. Slate: "At Monday night's ceremony, sports broadcaster Mary Carillo, who once played World TeamTennis with the honoree, expressed the essence of King's equal-opportunity agenda: 'She's for the rich, the poor, black, white, straight, gay, she wants equality for everyone. She's not just a great tennis player and a women's libber, and that's an important thing to keep in mind.'"

Apscream3_1road.jpg Once thought incinerated by its thieves, Edward Munch's beloved "The Scream" has been recovered.

road.jpg Chelsea Clinton: devil worshipper.

road.jpg Model Marcus Schenkenberg makes an appearance in a tight little pair of square cuts.

road.jpg The Uniformed Services University — a medical, nursing, and graduate school run by the Department of Defense — has elected Patrick High, who is openly gay, as its student council president. SLDN: "“Patrick High’s election as student council president is just the latest in a series of signs that those serving in our armed forces are ready to welcome openly gay colleagues. High was elected based on his qualifications for the post, and that same criteria should be the guiding force throughout the military. His fellow students, including military students, have placed their trust in a leader who represents their ideals and goals."

  1. $20 Million for propoganda... er ... um Positive News in and out of Iraq? That's like one 60 second spot during the Super Bowl. What? No "Staples Easy Button"?

The news is the news. There is nothing the idiot in the Whitehouse can do to cover it up when it is being reported by the rest of the world. I wish it were good news, we could use it. It's been far too long.

Good news would be "Impeach Bush, NOW!"

  2. Is there anyway we can tell what site or blog we're linking to before we are linked to it? i dont like that im counted as a hit on his site when i do not want to see it at all. do you have some sort of deal with him wherein you link to eachothers stuff?

  3. It bothers me very deeply when tax dollars are spent to tell the public what to think about a public issue. It's the same problem I have with federal anti-drug advertisements. It seems wrong that the government is spending money to try to convince the public that they should govern in a particular way, whether it's Iraq, drugs or better environmental laws.

As for "Impeach Bush, Now", Rad -- I think that frequently but then we would get Cheney who, I suspect, would be even worse (I think that Bush is stupid and ignorant and mean, whereas Cheney is smart and actually evil.) Just like his father (with VP Quayle) this Bush has made himself almost un-impeachable by a clever choice of running mate. And if you somehow got rid of Cheney too - you've got Hastert and then Frist. It's a whole world of bad down there in DC.

  4. To Buster,

Why do you think that the government shouldn't have an Anti-Drug campaign... it's not only illegal, but it's also healthier for the society, so personally I don't see anything wrong for it.

I do TOTALLY agree with you thought on the 20 million issue.

Also, on the BJK bit, go BJK!!
