Free New Mexican Selling Prints of Gay Basher

Segura_1Just in case you were looking for a companion piece for those Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson portraits you've got on the wall...

I'm sure that the Free New Mexican intended sales of prints from photos on their website to focus on less sensitive subjects, but you would think an editor would give it a once-over.

Here's an update to the New Mexico gay bashing case I posted about two weeks ago.

The alleged "probable cause" for the gay bashing, according to documents filed in court, was that the victim "might have been assaulted because a man at the party believed the gay man had touched his butt."

Of course. It's the victim's fault that he was beaten senseless.

"The juvenile male arrested in the case said he, York and Segura tied the gay man's hands, placed a torn black T-shirt over his head, walked him into a deserted field, pushed him onto a downed fence and beat him, the statement says. The juvenile, the statement says, said he egged on York by calling the gay man joto, a derogatory Spanish word meaning gay."

The victim in the case suffered a concussion, facial bruising and lacerations, and bleeding on the brain after a torture that lasted until the sun came up. One of the attackers, 21-year-old William York, has said that they wanted to "scare..him straight" and "get him to stop acting the way he was."

  1. Straight men's butts are the most sensitive, precious, delicate things in the world. They must be defended with violent force. I hope the judge and jury will understand this.

  2. Oh my....Do you think it was done on purpose that it shows you can 'buy a print'? I mean, why would someone want to buy a print of a friggin gay basher????

  3. There is no hell hot enough for people like this. NO ONE should ever have to face being kidnapped, dragged into a field and beaten for hours on end, JUST BECAUSE HE'S GAY!!

"Beating him straight" is as stupid as "beating him white".

I hope that these guys have a lot of fun in prison. Having their asses "touched" will soon become the least of their worries.

  4. I hope they enjoy being beaten gay in prison. I can hear it now, "Boy, you got a purty mouth". Sometimes I wish the punishment truly fit the crime, such as beating these boys senseless till the sun comes up. Asshats...

  5. @Cory

Right on. I agree. The court should show them a few choice episodes of OZ and then tell them that was a rehersal compared to the bitches they could become heh.. And I loved the use of the underused word, Asshat, it's like saying jerk and dumbass at the same time! ;-)

  6. The most interesting thing about the article (to me) was the comments section on the link. Many of the people 'read' like they're str8 and there didn't seem to be a lot of support/justification for the perpetrators. Lots of weird comments, true..references to the supposed gay appearance of Segura and his rosary...but virtually none talking about a str8 guy getting his ass touched. Just pointing out that the enemies are out there, but far more people view this exactly for what it is.
and..because there's almost always one..PLEASE nobody post "I'd Do Him"

  7. Its terrible that this stuff still happens in such a liberal state as New Mexico. Santa Fe, my hometown, still prides itself as the tolerant and gay-friendly bastion of the Southwest. Yet Santa Fe has little to no community resources for gay youth. As of now I reside in Albuquerque, where this "bashing" took place and the gay community here is more vibrant and immensly stronger than Santa Fe, but intolerance and hate will always exist. Also FYI, the "Free New Mexican" is not the name of a local news orginization. "The New Mexican" is the local newspaper and the "Free New Mexican" website is the non-pay, limited website for their newspaper. The "eNEw Mexican" is their more comprehensive subscription site.

  8. I can understand the homo establishing buttockal contact with Segura. Dude sure looks gay to me, it was an honest mistake. He should lose the ear stud and necklace and try to look more man-like, in the future, to avoid buttock embraces.
