A 15-year-old boy was sentenced to 10 years in a juvenile detention center for his part in the brutal Balboa Park attacks following San Diego's gay pride festival last July:
“The boy pleaded guilty in Juvenile Court to three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and hate crime allegations. He also admitted causing great bodily injury to one of the victims. A Juvenile Court judge who handed down the sentence Wednesday called the crimes ‘beyond comprehension.' The boy told the judge he was sorry for his crimes.”
Three others involved in the attacks learned their sentences at the end of September: “Judge Frederick Maguire sentenced Carroll to 11 years in prison, Tatum to eight years and Lincoln to 32 months. They were immediately taken from courtroom after the sentencing.”
