Cops Nab Porn Star Suspected in Death of Gay Denver Man
Timothy Boham, a suspect in the shooting death of Denver businessman John "JP" Kelso, was taken into custody Thursday morning just steps away from the Mexico border in Arizona. Boham is a porn actor who goes by the name of Marcus Allen and has acted in several movies (link NSFW) and posed for Playgirl's "Campus Hunks" issue. According to the Denver Post, "When he was approached by customs officers, Boham allegedly told them he was a first- degree murder fugitive out of Denver. The officers arrested Boham, and Denver detectives are making arrangements to have him returned."
Boham was recently hired as a debt collector by the Kelso, who founded Professional Recovery Systems, a Denver collection agency, but any relationship beyond a professional one remains unclear, although Kelso was openly gay.
Boham, who has a 5-year-old daughter, had "numerous girlfriends" according to the Post and once told a downstairs neighbor that he "sanitized" his apartment "by thoroughly scrubbing it because a gay man had lived there previously."
Said the neighbor: "He hated (gays). He hated their lifestyle."
Yet he had no problem being "gay for pay" (link NSFW) in such movies as Falcon Studio's Through the Woods. One talent agency owner told the Post that Boham seemed desperate: "He didn't like people telling him what to do. He seemed like an angry person. His opportunities were tapering off. He got into bloody fistfights. He just had anger issues."
Sounds like plenty of self-loathing internal conflict going on here.

Ah, yup. I have stopped buying video porn for that reason. Too many gay/self-loathing, "gay for pay", wife-beating dick heads in the business to warrant spending my money on it.

At first I thought it sounded like a typical employment dispute gone horribly wrong, but self-loathing in Denver is the theme of the month, so maybe that's what's going on here too. He might also be suicidal if the typical pattern holds.

Ya know, saying "gay for pay" still attaches "gay" to what is primarily a heterosexual murderer. This is about a straight man (at least for now) killing a gay man.

With very rare exception, I think the term "gay for pay" is bogus. Sure, some people's fantasy powers are extremely strong, but, in my experience, it's the other way around as, for example, the man who told me he had sired six children with his wife by fantasizing about men each time they had sex.
Sure, totally straight men get raped, and it's easy to imagine some straight men willingly bottoming for the right price, but when an erection is required I refuse to believe that more than, say, 5% of them are truly straight. The rest are bi and lying or lying/not yet accepting gays.
Further, I think the term was promoted by the gay porn industry [it's not like "The New Yorker" decided to do an expose and was surprised to discover the alleged phenomenon] to capitalize on the still popular, and, yes, intrinsically self-loathing belief maintained by some gay men that "straight" men are better somehow.

Wow, I haven't read the comments yet but my first reaction is Boham has many issues revolving around his own homosexuality. Such a shame. Recently, if anyone has learned anything through the Republikkklan politicians and evangelists who have been outed or came out, that self-loathing is definitely "the greatest love of all" (thanks Bill Maher for that quote lol). The irony, gentlemen, is that WE are our worse enemy, the self-loathing homosexuals, the tormented souls who can't accept their true-selves. WE are our own enemy...

As we all know, our society gives preferential treatment to attractive heteros. And yet we are supposed to believe that he had to go "gay for pay" to make a living? For what? Puh-leeze! He is a self-loathing queer, period.

The gay "community" does nothing but reinforce the idea that straight people are better. Gay publications and websites purposefully show only attractive straight men and perpetuate that belief. You rarely see the many attractive gay men.

There is a lot more to this story than we are being led to believe. According to the Rocky Mountain News yesterday, the victim was one of the pioneers of the "debt buying industry". I ask you...what the FUCK is that?
The victim also has a criminal record that goes back more than 15 years and personal financial troubles including bankruptcy filings in his past.
Not that any of that information means someone deserves to be murdered, but it makes me wonder whether it came into play somehow.
I always question people with suspicious pasts who then go on to become "successful wealthy 'businessmen'" Sorta reminds me of that creep Alan Cranston of California, a "respected politician" who helped bring down the fall of Lincoln Savings due to the bond scandal against senior citizens. After Mr. Alan spends his time in prison, he gets out and starts another company. Who in their right mind does business with these types of people?
I would be interested in an investigation into the alleged 'successful' business at the same time as the murder investigation.

dumb asses, i mean guys commenting on marcus allen stating he deserves to be incarcerated, kudos to "ME, do not jump into thrashing and nailing boham or allen to a cross until we get full information and investigation who knows may be he did not kill him, may be kelso was a not a victim, maybe kelso was framing allen we dont know yetttt so please lets not jump into conclusions and nail allen to a cross, get all the facts before you judge, who believes a land lord who is probably a bitter queen or others who are probably mad at allen,,,i dont care what he did,,, what do they say innocent until proven guilty.....so stop juging and you get mad for breeders judging us queers

He did seem to have children in evidence of his str8ness, but maybe he was bi- or slowly realizing his gayness. His boss may have put one too many moves on him. Who knows?
Debt buying is a common business that is nothing really scandalous at all. You buy debt at a discount and then try to recover the original amount at a profit, largely by annoying the debtor to death with phone calls. To save money, most of the calls are now done out of India.
Since not all gay men are self-loathing I would not make the WE so strong in "WE are our own worst enemy". Certainly plenty of str8 men and women are counted among our worst enemies too. Even a quick glance of online gay blogs indicate that young guys are often proud to be gay these days, and many of these blogs are pornographic too. It's like they don't think there is anything wrong either with being gay or displaying their sex lives for the whole world to see. (I'll take the first over the second, but I doubt the second is a sign of emotional turmoil.)

Don't be gullible: Gay for Pay is a myth. Timothy is a bisexual or gay man who hates himself so much that he is still in denial about his same-sex attractions, although he himself has publicly penetrated multiple men with his penis as well as escorts for men in his private life. He hates his own attraction to men, so he copes by hating men who accept their homosexuality. Studies have shown that men who are violently homophobic are disproportionately homoerotically inclined themselves. The gay-for-pay myth perpetuated in gay porn is toxic and rooted in homophobic self-loathing and denial.

There are a lot of straight people that hate gay people. Gay people did not create the closet. Gay people did not create the reasons for hating to be gay.
He's probably gay. I feel sorry for the victim who was also the victim of society's prejudice against gay people.

While there are many straight people that hate gays, there are virtually none that publicly and habitually have sex with the same sex like Timothy did. The evidence of him being a self-loathing gay or bisexual was there before he apparently killed this dude. Now, it is essentially confirmed.

Society's prejudice against gays is due in large part to self loathing gay men who deny their attraction to men. I think that's what Cory and others were trying to say. Many of our worst enemies are actually gay men and women in denial. Sure, there are plenty of old school bigots in the straight world who just plain hate us. But to paraphrase a quote from the movie "The Opposite of Sex." ... straight men don't spend a lot of time thinking about what naked men do together.
Within my own family, I have a close relative who will not "encourage" my lifestyle because she feels it's morally wrong. I actually suspect that she is a closet lesbian because she once told me she knows homosexuality isn't a choice, but a "good Christian" should avoid acting on those feelings.

Anon, your statistical data regarding the percentage of gays in the population is based on men and women who identify themselves as gay. There is very little data available on the actual number of textbook-gay men and women in the population since many people will lie about their sexual orientation or their past "experimentation" if nothing else.
And the overwhelming numbers voting against pro gay legislation likely include a percentage of closeted homosexuals or people who are turned off by homosexuality due to some shame about their own experimentation or bi-curious feelings. The size of such percentages is up for debate.
And I have known more than my share of closeted, married, downlow men who would never call themselves gay but sure do enjoy man on man action. So the 5% or less number your suggesting is far from realistic in my experience.
