Jerusalem's Gay Pride Parade Goes Off as Stadium Event
Jerusalem's Gay Pride event took place today, within the confines of the stadium of Hebrew University, despite weeks of protest by ultra-Orthodox Jewish groups who threatened bloodshed were a parade to take place through the holy city.
The BBC reports that there was little violence at the event, which lasted for four hours, and drew about 4,000 people. Security was tight, but scaled down from the detail planned when the parade was to have marched through the streets. A few gay protestors did try to march through the city, but were promptly arrested.

Me too. It's actually a really nice arty photo that'd look good in b/w with a splash of tone in the background or something. The fact you can't see their faces makes it so it could be anyone, which is a good metaphor.
I'm glad this event went ahead. These old fundamentalists won't go on forever. I can see people ditching extreme religion in the long run. It's just not working in a modern climate. I am sick of old men with beards dictating what everyone should be doing with their lives, as if it's their business.

I did a little research on the Haredim
The Haredim are the Orthedox Jews that had been comiting violence and threatening even worse violence due to the planned gay pride parade.
I found something interesting. the Haredim for the past 150 years have practiced something called metzitza b’peh
metzitza b’peh is the practice of sucking the blood from a circumcised baby's penis. The Mohel (the guy whom circumcises the child)performs the circumcission and then cleans the wound by sucking on it.
These people are judging us???????????? let alone that it is completly unsanitary, medicaly foolish, dangerous to the health of the child and the mohel....it is also uhm molesting of a child
This week's episode of FREAK SHOW on comedy central mentioned this practice, I looked it up to see if it was real.....It is
a lot of orthedox jews practice this...a minority within judaism, but still a large number.
