World Series Champ St. Louis Cardinals Play Ball
And now, something a little on the lighter side.
We neglected to celebrate the 2006 World Series champs, the St. Louis Cardinals, so consider this a brief tribute. I'm not sure when this shot (sent in by our reader Joe) was taken (probably not during the series), but there's no doubt that to win a World Series it does take a special kind of teamwork and camaraderie.
And remember, Missouri is the "Show Me" state.

How do straight guys explain this? The butt slapping thing between athletes - ok, ok - I can stretch my sense of belief to see it as just good, clean, hetero, high-spirited fun. But dick grabbing? Seriously, why would a straight guy do this?

I looked this photo up a long time ago when it first appeared, and there was an article that claimed that Edmonnds made the grab out of anger and was fined for his actions. To think that a photoshop picture could have stirred up all that fuss is pretty funny (and at the time I looked the picture up -NO ONE was even suggesting that it was a fake). The guy is good.
