News: Ricky Martin, Moths, Pit Stains, Randy Harrison

Rickylaptoproad.jpg You can own Ricky Martin's signed Vaio laptop. And well, if it's true what they say about old hard drives — that nothing on them is ever truly erased — who knows what the lucky winner might dig up.

road.jpg Boy George and Little Britain's David Walliams had a bit of a catfight on Channel 4's The Big Fat Quiz Of The Year when George asked Walliams about his co-star Matt Lucas' wedding. Said Walliams: "Very nice thank you. It was great you weren't there." Apparently there's some bad blood between the two of them. According to comedian Russell Brand, who was also on the show, "Boy George thinks that Matt Lucas isn't a good example of homosexuality." Explained Walliams later: "There's a background to this. I wouldn't be mean for the sake of it."

  1. As a Gay Entomologist (I like both bugs and buggery!), thanks for the pics of the newly discovered species of Eye-Moth. I've personally seen Vampire Moths imbibing blood from sleeping *people*, and I have pictures of other tear-drinking moths sucking up tears from a human volunteer (apparently it itches, but doesn't cause lasting discomfort) but the bird-loving species sounds gloriously icky! Moths are much more interesting to me than Butterflies, which are all gaudy show and little substance- they're the Paris Hilton of the Insect world...

  2. Oooh Gavin I would LOVE to see the pictures. Also the vampire moth sounds fascinating and scary as hell. I never knew it existed until now. Do you have pictures of that one at work? Could you provide a link?

  5. What a frightening yet poetic demon these mmoths seem to be! who flit from nest to nest in the night to harpoon greedy mouths into small eyes closed in slumber, to feed on the tiny unformed tears of gently sleeping birds...Sounds like something out of Shakespeare or Milton : )

  6. Ricky is getting better and better looking. I would LOVE to win the bid on his laptop (and that computer thingie would be nice, too!), but the bidding is already well above my residual credit limit.

Oh well. I can only hope some Hacking Queen wins the bid and can rund Norton utilities on the drive to see exactly WHERE he has been...

  7. The moths make me think of Allan Poe, or very early Kate Bush circa 'The Kick Inside'. Haunting.

  8. You mean like Kate Bush's hit single 'The Magpie with the Moth in Its Eyes'?

Haha. For a minute you got me. I was wracking my brain for this unfamiliar "hit single" before 'The Man with the Child in His Eyes' dawned on me.
