The Blue Jersey clip is priceless. I put in on my Facebook. And Kathy is hysterical. The look in Anderson Cooper's face! Awesome.

Ok, I have a YouTube account and a movie editor.. I am SO going to follow that Poppins clip with something similar... what a great idea.
And Kathy never fails to make me laugh. Saw her live a couple of months ago. Gay President: "I assume you're talking about Oprah."
Priceless.

ROFL kathy Griffin, she used to annoy me a little bit, now I just go with her crazed comedy and she's a riot. "Shoe gays" LOL

The Blue Jersey clip was dead on accurate and needs to be seen by everyone! I have always been the one that just wants the recognition rather than the name but this was a good spot.

I truly think the way we are going to win this gay marriage fight is by using advertising to educate the people who are against gay marriage about the ways in which we are not equal...and the Blue Jersey spot is great!

If civil union legislation allowed same-sex partners hospital visitation rights, then a hospital that denied that right would be in violation of the law, just as they would if it were a same-sex marriage. Either way, the couple could sue the hospital for denial of their legal right to hospital visitation.
The problem isn't semantics, the problem is that same-sex couples aren't recognized as legitimate the way different-sex couples are. If a nurse or doctor or hospital representative is ignorant or bigoted towards same-sex couples, they're not going to care whether it's called a "marriage" or a "civil union."

Semantics ARE important. While I agree the first priority is to get [under whatever term] all of the legal rights and protections that hetero couples get, we must not stop there.

Leland...I agree with you that semantics are important.
And are we supposed to take seriously Kathy Griffin's insinuation that Anderson Cooper is a Republican? I did notice that on the evening of the recent elections Anderson was wearing a tie with very prominent red stripes. Might he be a member of the Log Cabin Republicans? Jeez, let's hope not.

PS: finally watched the Griffin clip. Thanks, Andy. Kudos to McGreevy & his partner for kissing when the latter came on. Bet THAT was a King show first.
Speaking of betting, I bet you five pairs of Gloria jeans that Anderson was so afraid Griffin was going to out him live that he had a fear hard on.

First off I love Lewis Black. Right on target on every issue and he loves the gays. Second, Kathy is great and how gay is Cooper? All he needs is a dick up his ass.

Leland, you beat me to the punch. Anderson was scared s***less thinking Kathy is going to call him a News Gay.

Hmmm. Well, I was only able to Google one incident of a campaign donation by Anderson before I got bored. In 2001, he gave $250 to the campaign for Congress of Richter Elser, a Republican, BUT an out gay one who is a regular contributer to the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force [at least $2500 in the 2004-2005 reporting cycle], and active in AIDS work. He doesn't seem to win the offices he's run for, if for no other reason than he lives in the extremely liberal New Haven, CT. He is the former owner of Richter's pub. As we, of course, have no proof that Anderson is gay, we can only dare presume that he befriended the older Elser simply as a member of the lightweight rowing crew, which Elser coached, when he was at Yale. Ya hear that, JT? Imagine Anderson in a tight, spandex singlet [there may still be a photo on the wall at Richter's!]. AND, are you ready......wait for it.......Anderson was coxswain.

Kathy Griffin is a GODDESS...

Scary Mary is terrific. An aside note, I saw an interview with Julie Andrews on the View about 6 years ago. Did you know that Julie Andrews had a bumper sticker made especially to put on her car that read "Marry Poppins is a whore." Can you imagine driving down the road, seeing that bumper sticker on the back of a vehicle then realizing it's Julie Andrews driving?

Julie is a scream--with a mouth like a sailer.
