Towleroad Guide to the Tube: #102
DIAGNOSIS MYSTERY: The Daily Show looks at Wayne Besen and sexual reorientation.
IDOL WORSHIP: The Melinda Doolittle School of Humility.
WINGNUT HATE VIDEO: Hateful anti-gay propaganda put out by a Christian group opposing Britain's new sexual orientation guidelines which go into effect tomorrow. More info on this at Pink News...
AIRBUS A380: The world's largest passenger plane arrives at LAX for the first time, but the best part of this video is listening to the airline geeks get nuts about it. The plane holds 555 passengers.

That was hilarious. And I am talking about the Christian video.
People who believe in magic shouldn't have access to children like that.

One trusts you included the ridicule of Melinda Doolittle only to illustrate what crusty, pus-oozing rectums exist at E!

I am a huge Melinda Doolittle fan.

OMG.....! that Christian video was insulting and hilarious at the same time! Those people must be really desperate for attention to make something as outlandish as that! now they do realize how ridiculous they sound right?

Also that piece from the Daily show was fucking funny! that therapist is another nut case like the anti gay pastor in the other thread! and the really sad part is is that he takes himself seriously and unfortunately he is taken seriously by others.
I would also like to point out that he is a good example of Christian brain washing and conditioning. I'm so glad that i no longer fallow that fear mongering defunct religion anymore!

I LOVE Melinda Doolittle. She needs to stop acting so surprised at complements and take praise like the pro she is.

I am voting with Howard Stern and Vote for the Worst in picking Sanjaya, but kinda sucks that you get picked on for being humble.

I went ahead and flagged the video as HATE SPEECH by my rights as a registered user of YouTube. I suggest the same type of response by anyone else that has registered with YouTube as this is the EXACT SAME TYPE OF RESPONSE received when videos of a non-lascivious homosexual nature have been posted in the past. The video is absurd, poorly done and most certainly ridiculous, but nonetheless offensive. This type of reverse psychology bullshit by leftist religious groups can be countered, but sitting idly by and just laughing it off serves nobody.

Correction:
...right-wing religious groups.

These were great.
Commercials like this that the Christian groups make always come off as incredibly cheesy, I guess because they really have to stretch things to fit their absurd ideology.
If that Wayne Besen guy in the first video was being serious then he has some serious (and hilarious!) issues.

This video is a fucking disgrace. Let me explain. It is a pack of lies; a total misrepresentation of the Equality Act (Sexual Orientation Regulations)2007 which is already in effect in Northern Ireland. This is the law that prohibits discrimination by service providers (eg hoteliers) on grounds of sexual orientation. It has ruffled a lot of Christian feathers because they are not allowed to claim religious advantage for their discrimination. The Act is not about "promoting" homosexuality to school children; its about the discrimination experienced by lesbian, gay and bisexual people accessing services in healthcare and other public services, in accessing hotels and the tourism industry and by children who have gay parents.
It is the typical scaremongering by the god squad. Fortunately, they are ignored by the public and it is for that reason that they have to resort to these disgusting tactics; by frightening people into thinking that their children will be 'taught homosexuality' at school. By calling the law the Sexual Orientation Regulations instead of The Equality Act, they also seek to distort the picture.
They have deliberately exposed those kids to all this talk about sex for the sake of this Christian anti-gay ideology. They say nothing in the video about the actual point of the legislation itself; choosing instead to willfully misrepresent the protection of kids who suffer bullying at school as a result of having gay parents.
hmm...having a go at melinda is all too easy isn't it? not impressed by that cheap shot either.

That video protesting Britain's new law is ridiculous. Straights are being discriminated against. Thats the most ludicrous statement i have ever heard. We are being discriminated against by bigots like these wingnuts. And yes they are bigots; if they don't like being called bigots, then they should stop being bigots.
The Daily Show is awesome. That ex-gay guy is so gay and he knows it. I feel sorry for his family; they've been brainwashed just like he has. And Wayne Besen is kinda hot.

While Besen's ego is, respectfully, perhaps a bit too, uh, healthy, he is a tireless, informed, and articulate leader in the battle against the "ex-gay" con who deserves tremendous admiration.

I got confused because I couldn't tell which video was the Daily Show and which one was the propaganda!
@Atheist:
Note that they state at the beginning of the video that "camera trickery was used". They did not actually talk to those kids about sex or show them graphic pictures. What they did was edit it to make it look that way. If you watch closely, you'll notice that the "teacher's" words and movements don't match when they shoot from behind her back. When the camera faces her, it's a close up shot of her; no children are visible, because they weren't there. And they dubbed her voice over "reaction shots" of the children, also taken out of context. Also the picture was blurred out, so she was probably showing them an innocent cartoon or something. The whole thing is cut and paste, much like "reality" shows.

I saw the airbus at LAX yesterday. It was impressive and exciting.
I almost feel like taking you to task, Andy for calling the aviation enthusiasts "geeks".
I guess I'm one of them, although I just thought I was interested in "travel".
Posted by: Kevin | Mar 20, 2007 10:53:30 PM
Who was Besen kissing at the end of the clip? At first I thought it was the "coach".

I REFUSE to get in that big "flying city"..no thank you.I don't care if they freebie me..and I don't like Cessnas.so I go from one extreme to the next.but I do like big penis !

Wayne Besen continues to be one of my heroes!

Andy, as usual, you're SO right. Listening to those guys have a "nerdgasm" over the A380 was hilarious. Yeah, it's a big impressive airplane that holds a lot of passengers. Yawn. Technologically speaking, it's hardly groundbreaking. Now, if we were talking about watching the landing of a passenger model version of the first hypersonic scram-jet transport, then there'd be a legitimate reason to let your inner "nerd" out for a "geekfest" like that in public...

Am I the only one who didn't think the Melinda skit was an attack on Melinda? I mean, the women at the beginning and the end are the ones who look like assholes until they follow Melinda's lead.
I thought it was a cute way of showing how genuine she is...
Well except that crack about "daddy doesn't love me."

Re: AIRBUS A380: It sounds like some of the airline geeks were describing a giant penis flying into LAX.

If you liked the A380 video, definitely check out the blog written by the Lufthansa employees flying the plane:
http://touch-down-a380-usa.blogspot.com/
The A380 has cameras installed on the nose, belly and tail - all of which can be viewed by passengers. They posted a YouTube video of the take-off from the tail perspective - it's pretty f'in wild.
