Did Hasselbeck have another whiny freakout? Lemme watch...

Here is another clip from the set of I Heart Huckabees:

Not sure who is in the right on either one but from what I hear, Russell is a complete terror to work with but Lily isn't a saint either

thank goodness for rosie!

David Russell is a notorious psychotic. He and George Clooney had a fist fight on the set of Three Kings b/c Clooney said DR was abusing the crew, etc. Sure, Lily seems like a diva here, but I might be too if a director told me twenty different things over 6 hours. Anyway, a fascinating glimpse at how unglamourous filmmaking can be!

Seems to me Lily is unafraid to rock the cradle Russel's ego lolls in.
Posted by: Gil | Mar 21, 2007 4:42:44 PM
Go Lily.
What an unprofessional manic crybaby that guy is. On the other hand, I Heart Huckabees turned out to be a fantastic movie.

That little girl on Idol...
She was so Freaking obnoxious. Maybe she was crying over how terrible Sanjaya actually is. I can't beleive he's still on. From the beginning they really should have sent all the men home and the white women, well Gina's not bad.
Rosie O.
Love Her. Hate Elizabeth.
Posted by: Jeff | Mar 21, 2007 5:12:31 PM
I HATE ROSIE O'DONNELL. She is a vile human being. Rosie should not be held as some sort of hero. She is a loud mouth that distorts the truth about the facts. Elizabeth is simple and can't put a complete thought together. Rosie thinks everyone needs her help understanding Foreign Policy. She is going to ruin the Democratics chances in 08' if they continue to let her rant about the current administration.
Useless political celebrities need to shut the fuck up, because the majority are high school drop outs with NO formal education and no background in foreign policy.

"distorts the truth about the facts"? OK, Mike, you've convinced me with your superior intellect.
Posted by: Leland | Mar 21, 2007 5:58:50 PM
Wow, Mike. Angry much? What about you or your situation makes it so that you invest this much energy into hating someone?
As the Buddhists say: you hate in others, what you see in yourself.

Okay,
I don't watch The View because of its inanity, and that clip pretty much proves my point.
I don't watch American Idol because its wretchedness, and that clip pretty much proves my point.
And I thank Andy for giving the opportunity to use the words inanity and wretchedness in one post. (and if wretchedness is not a proper word, who cares, it certainly describes that show)
God Bless.

I honestly don't mind people like Elizabeth that support atrocities like what happened at this prisoner camp or things like the patriot act. The thing that bothers me is when Elizabeth says that this needs to be done in order to protect our freedom and our liberty. You can’t protect something that doesn’t exist. Be honest with yourself and speak the truth. The truth is that you are willing to give up your freedom and your liberty if it guarantees your safety. It’s not a bad thing to want! It just bothers me that Elizabeth thinks she is the lone champion of patriotism because she has decided that she could live without the freedom that our country has fought so hard to protect for centuries.

OK. David O. Russell and Elizabeth and now racist Jeff = big f'ing jerks. Can a chick with no neck really be an American Idol? This competition belongs to Blaine.

when are they going to cancel The View.....???!!!! But then again, where would we get such entertaining material?!
Posted by: billy o | Mar 21, 2007 9:43:17 PM
wow - that david o. russell/lily tomlin clip bummed me out. i truly loved huckabees, 3 kings, and flirting with disaster. i work in the industry and despise "screamers", but it does seem that many of them do superior work. you take the good, you take the bad...

Those poor polar bears. Their plight makes me physically sick. Couldn't we just send Bush, Rove, Gonzales, Bolton, et. al. up there to take their place and videotape their drowning? I think Gonzales'd be up for it. I understand he's really into water sports.
Oh. Wait. That's water boarding. Well, anything that brings their demise.
Okay, so for that Sanjaya horrorfest, last night I literally ran three rooms away from my TV (I couldn't find the remote), locked myself in my closet and got to know an old pair of Ferragamo's (still very fashionable, mind you) until I felt it safe to come out again. Still, with all my attempts to save myself, my ears did bleed a little.
Jeez, he's awful.
As for Rosie & Elizabeth, well, same ol' same ol'. I applaude that the View has guests like Kennedy on, showing the suburban wives some facts as to the horrors of this administration's flight into terrorism and R&E simply echo their audience. Whatever.
But I have to say I was devastated by Lily and David shouting at each other like that. I love I Heart Huckabees, have seen it at least a half dozen times and now, should I ever indulge another viewing, I'll appreciate the fact that Lily stood her ground and David called her a cunt. Just reminds me of my happy childhood....

It's patently ridiculous to think that any politicians, Democratic or otherwise are paying that much attention to what Rosie O'Donnell or Elizabeth Hasselbeck have to say. Whether I or anyone else agrees with what they have to say, they have the right to say it.
It's their job, the show is called "The View," and that's what they've been hired to do...interview Bea Arthur, give crap away and give their view on happenings of the day. So, unless we're going to exempt all actors, musicians, comedians, talk show hosts, athletes and the like from paying taxes....they have as much right to express their opinions, as everyone else....they live here too.
The Democratic Party has far more serious problems, that will keep them out of the White House, than any that Rosie may pose for them, if they don't get there shit together. Cause as i see it, Rosie right, wrong, loud, or abrasive...has more balls then all of them put together. I like that she takes a stand, even though unpopular and she has a clear opinion, even though (super) unpopular but there is no way in hell, that when i go to polls to vote in '08, i'll be asking myself WWRD?

I say throw the two of them(Rosie/Elizabeth) into a big pit of jello, watch them wrestle it out, and i'll sit back and do 151 shots. Coming from a big 'ol queen-that's saying a lot.
Posted by: Otto | Mar 22, 2007 6:55:52 AM
Go Lily! Russell is a twat.
Rosie likes to hear herself talk way too much.
Posted by: shane | Mar 22, 2007 7:21:29 AM
That little crying girl was on the freakin Today Show today. Oh the humanity!
Posted by: Martin | Mar 22, 2007 9:19:11 AM
"Useless political celebrities need to shut the fuck up, because the majority are high school drop outs with NO formal education and no background in foreign policy."
Wow Mike, sounds like they would fit right in with the Bush Administration where you don't have to have a lick of experience or accountability to get appointed.
Ok, American Idol: THe Sanjaya debacle was cute in the beginning. Ha Ha he's so bad. Ha ha look at his perm. But now talented performers are going home just because 11-13 year old girls all have cell phones.
If Sanjaya stays while Melinda leaves, FOX better plan to have its studios burned down.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck was trying to regurgitate the tired old Republican talking points that Abu Grab was nothing more than a few bad apples and Rosie called her on it. Good for Rosie. But, if the View is going to have serious guests to discuss serious topics, then the hosts need to learn how to conduct interviews. That was a mess.
Posted by: sam | Mar 22, 2007 10:21:36 AM
"[I]f the View is going to have serious guests to discuss serious topics, then the hosts need to learn how to conduct interviews."
I wholeheartedly agree. I think people continue to forget Elisabeth Hasselbeck is simply a reality TV personality. She's just some woman who was on Survivor and married (her high school sweetheart) a NFL player (third string quarterback no less… basically he sucks IMHO).
If anyone looks to Hasselbeck as an authority on anything, I question his or her mental aptitude.
Come on, she believes in creationism for crying out loud!
