OK, ANDY, YOU OFFICIALLY OWE ME A NEW LAPTOP!
There's no salvaging this one now that I spewed half a glass of Sprite through my nose and onto the keyboard.
That Exeter clip is HI-lar-i-ous!

The Bill Moyers special was actually on last night (Wednesday) not tonight. But, it is playing again later in the week. It is definitely worth watching.

The guy looks just like my first boyfriend!

Yeah the Moyers Special was on last night. It was EXCELLENT and INFURIATING.
If your aren't royally pissed by the time you finish watching it then you must truly be braindead.

Annie Lennox was terrible. I always thought she was pretty good, but man she has a weak voice live. They must do something in the recording booth to make her sound better. This was embarrasing to watch...

Thanks, Andy! Saw the PBS special last night and it's as brilliant and revealing as anything Moyers has ever done which is saying a lot. Watch for it in your area. IT IS REQUIRED VIEWING for any American who cares about not just the past but our future, and wants to learn the step-by-step facts of how 99% of the mainstream media were Bush butt buddies to get us into this endless river of blood in Iraq, including the "New York Times" and the "Washington Post." They were manipulated like puppets by the White House, running front page stories full of lies planted by the Bushies without question. Then, for example, Cheney could go on Tim Russert's show and comment on the NYT story as if it came from them rather than him and his henchmen. Yes, some Dems are made to look very bad, too, as is Colin Powell. There’s a lot of shame to go around, and it’s seen running down the faces of many that Moyer’s interviews except for anyone from the Administration, or neocon war drum major Bill Kristol, or the NYT’s Judith Miller—all of whom refused to be interviewed.
One of the most mindboggling scenes is one of his first major press conferences on the planned invasion and how, moron that he is, he accidentally reveals that he's been given a list of sympathetic or easy-to-snow reporters to call on [“Mr. President, how does your religious faith help you during these times?”], and Moyer's chilling voiceover: "Other reporters kept raising their hands in the charade as if they still thought it was a spontaneous event in which anyone might be called on." More than one instance is given where media, such as “Time” magazine, are pressured into showing fewer pictures of Iraqi casualties or none at all.
The show's site is at the link below, including a Q&A with the two Knight-Ridder reporters from the clip above who repeatedly printed the truth only to be ignored by Washington media and politicians. There should be some transcripts from the show eventually.

I saw the Moyers special last night and agree that it was brilliant. I was so upset it took me hours to get to sleep. Every journalist, reporter, anchorman, network executive etc... should be forced to watch it. It completely blows away every excuse offered by those who claimed "we just didn't know." And, unfortunately, even after all this information was revealed to be false some in the news industry still are repeating the same mistakes.

The ex-gay thing was hilarious, even without the sexual stuff at the end.
"Nice shoes."
"Yeah, what's up with that hair?"
"I'll be in by the second inning."
HAHAHA! If only more of us had such humor...

Tracell...what in the hell are you talking about?! Annie Lennox' voice is pretty much beyone reproach and that performance was stunning in it's beauty. I suggest you have your hearing checked.

Well, wars sell a lot of newspapers.

I'd like to second peterparker--Annie Lennox was, as always, amazing. That Scottish brogue of hers gives her voice a depth and texture that is like no other...

Love me some Annie!

The sexual nonsense at the end was kinda over kill. I had the ball guy as an improv teacher once. He was kinda a dick to some people in the class. But, they also were really lousy at improv so being an ass to people with no talent is kinda justified.

Thanks for the link, but truth be told, I found the video on The Jimmi Chronicles.

Annie was wonderful as always. I third the claim that tracell (sp?) should get his hearing checked. She's one of the best vocalists alive and unlike the Xtinas and Mariahs, she actually understands phrasing and doesn't just belt notes.
She's the shiz. Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of seeing her live knows her voice is 10X more impressive from the stage than it is on record.

Annie was my favorite performance of the night... it was too good!!!
Posted by: Kelly | Apr 27, 2007 7:42:39 AM
Those who dis Annie probably buy Britney Spears, Christina A, and all those other cheap sell outs c.d's Just ignore them for their standards are usually low to begin with. Annie is one of the best vocalists out there. She can actually emote a muriad of emtions in a single song and radiates true goodness. That is impressive.

I have to add my voice to the chorus of "love me some Ms. Lennox" ... I heard her sing live at the British recording industry awards and was blown away by how good she sounded live, so ...
And the ex-gay vid cracked my shiet up ... hilarious.
