Brother of Boy George Comments on Bondage Kidnap
Boy George's brother Kevin O'Dowd remarked on the singer's reported arrest over the weekend for allegedly chaining up a male escort against his will. The escort, Auden Carlsen, reportedly ripped his shackles from the hook he was chained to and fled the singer's flat after George brandished whips and sex toys and said "Now you'll get what you deserve."
Said Kevin O'Dowd: "The bloke (Carlsen) has done a far bit of modelling for our clothes shop, so how can what he said be true? George isn't at all annoyed at the allegations, in fact, he thinks it's hilarious. Yeah, he was arrested, but the police are always going to follow it up when someone makes a complaint like that."
Carlsen said he went to George's flat as "a £400 photographic model and not as an escort."

Prominent Florida HIV/AIDS Organization Sues Boy George
South Florida’s largest and oldest HIV/AIDS community care organization, Care Resource, has taken a big step forward in filing a lawsuit against performer Boy George and his booking agency, Red Parrot, the organization announced in a press release.
"The $8,400 that Boy George and Red Parrot took from Care Resource would have paid the cost of primary medical care for nine of our patients for a full year," Rick Siclari, Care Resource executive director, said in the release.
Care Resource is suing the performer over deposit funds that were never returned to the agency after his cocaine arrest. Care Resource signed a contract on June 6, 2005, for Boy George, through Red Parrot, to be the celebrity guest DJ on November 26, 2005, as part of White Party Week Miami, one of the worlds largest yearly HIV/AIDS fund-raisers.
The cost for Boy George’s DJ services to appear was $12,000, plus $2,400 to Red Parrot for a booking fee. On August 4, 2005, a bank wire transfer went through to an HSBC bank in London for $8,400, which covered half of Boy George’s fee as the deposit and the entire booking agency fee.
Boy George was arrested October 7, 2005, on drug charges, but in correspondence with Red Parrot just one week after his arrest, George's booking agent, Johnston Pearce Walker, assured Care Resource that "George will still be keeping to his scheduled contracted DJ dates," Care Resource reports in the release.
Care Resource went on to report that on November 2, 2005, three weeks before he was scheduled to DJ, another e-mail was received from Johnston Pearce Walker, this time stating, "It is with regret that Boy George is not going to be able to DJ at the White Party. We have been instructed by his management that we have to cancel his engagement on this date. This now means that we have had to cancel 11 USA dates. If you would assist us by giving us 14 days we would very much appreciate it. We want to ensure that everyone gets their money back and try to put this mess behind us."
Since that date many e-mails, letters, and phone calls have been placed to the agency; all have gone unanswered."

The real scandal there is one that has been going on for a long long time. Aids orgs such as that one , whitman walker clinic, etc let their name be used for such events and only a few % points from the total take if that gets back to them. Whitman Walker clinic a few years ago recieved zip because the promoter of the dances said after all the costs they didn't make any monmey. the main cost being the $300,000 salary to the promoter etc.
Then there is that aids bike ride a while ago that gave 0 money to the charity it was for because the promoters all took a couple hundred thousand dollar salaries leaving nothing for the HIV clinic.
There is deffinetly a scandal, a multi year scandal but itsn' really boy george's scandal. it is the scandal that the entire HIV groups keep letting themselves get taken to the cleaner by having their names attached to money making scams and they themselves get pennies on the dollar if that / if anything at all.
Whitman Walker clinic the years it recieves nothing from such partys just says oh well it is advertising the cause.
That now is a scandal.
It is also a scandal that our communiity can NOT go to lets say just 1 white party dance or such (boycott just one) and just give the money directly to a HIV charity. It would then actualy go to said charity.
Boy george's case is shitty but the whole aids benefit scam thing going on for years is the bigger scandal.

Sorry but it just doesn't make sense.
If he was handcuffed and pulled the hook outta the wall, wouldn't Boy (Man? Daddy?) George notice? Wouldn't he further try to restrain him? The "boy" is a pretty big guy, I doubt it would be difficult for him to hold this guy down, esp. if he was handcuffed.
...And why wouuld George bother with a false pretense? If he's calling an escort, why would he call one there "just to model" if he wanted to tie him up? It would be easier to just tell the escort what he was looking for.
I just don't buy it, I think the guy just wants publicity, and see's an easy mark due to George's past, he probably figures the public will buy it.

Pacificoceanboy, you have a point about many abuses of/by gay charities. But you simply don't know what you're talking about in relation to the one Boy George stole from. The Miami White Party has been produced directly by the dedicated [and poorly paid] Care Resource in-house staff for years. They do not hire outside promoters to put it on and then say, "Just give us any crumbs that are left." While, in fact, I think circuit parties may do more to spread AIDS than prevent it, hat is also beside the point. The subject I raised was neither who produces what and to what success or failure but the fact that this "gay icon" stole from people with AIDS and I'm tired of seeing stories about him in gay media that fail to include that. He should be shunned/erased until he makes amends.
