How sweet! Pasty white anglo meets hot mediterranean. Man love is in bloom.
Meanwhile, in Cleveland, one of the big stories being covered is that of the two guys who make it a habit to sit in the bleacher seats at the Indians' Jacob's Field and heckle a visiting team member. Their latest target was Vernon Wells of the Blue Jays. Their "good natured" taunt included "Something is wrong with Wells, he loves guys." Soon, surrounding bleacherites were joining in the taunting. Wells, proving himself the better man, wrote a sarcastic message on a baseball and threw it up to the two jokers. This story makes light of the taunt and proves we gays are still open targets.

He's actually a pasty white Celt; I mean look at those lovely freckles. His granny was moved to Liverpool during the Dublin slum clearances in the 1950's. He grew up in the working class, and as his mother says. "English on the outside, Irish on the inside."
Beginning with John Lennon - whose grandfather came from Dublin and who explored this aspect of his lineage extensively in the mid-1970s - many of England’s greatest rebels were actually second generation Irish. In 1977 Johnny Rotten, the son of Irish immigrants, led the punk movement. In the 1980s, the embodiment of English Indie music was Morrisey - lead singer and lyricist of the Smiths - son of Crumlin parents. Similarly, in the 1990s the leaders of Brit-pop, Noel and Liam Gallagher were from the same stable. These are only the tip of the iceberg.

That is so much hotter than the hand shake/shoulder bump that we see from American sports stars.
