News: Wiiitis, NYC Club Assault, Paris Hilton, Jason Knight
Gay man assaulted by staff at New York nightclub Pacha: " The victim was passed out in the West 46th Street club's bathroom early Sunday morning when he was allegedly dragged out and assaulted before being thrown out the back door. A source said that anti-gay slurs were made during the attack, which is being investigated as a hate crime. Cops executed a search warrant last night, seizing computers, video equipment and business records. During the raid, the club's manager, who was not identified, was arrested on a warrant."

First documented case of Wiiitis: "If a player gets too engrossed, he may 'play tennis' for many hours. With the growing use of this new video game system, the risk of the Wiiitis variant may be higher than that of Nintendinitis reported in the literature, especially among adults. Physicians should be aware that there may be multiple, possibly puzzling presentations of Wiiitis.”
Party at the Hilton Hilton: "After extensive consultation with Los Angeles County Medical Personnel, including doctors at the Century Regional Detention Facility, it has been determined that Paris Hilton will be reassigned to the Community-Based Alternatives to Custody: The CBAC Program. Ms. Hilton has been fitted with an electronic monitoring device and will serve the remained of her sentence confined to her home. She will now serve the full 45 day sentence. Ms. Hilton has been in custody for five days and therefore will be serving 40 days in the Electronic Monitoring Program under the supervision of the Los Angeles County Probation Department." More...

Liza Minnelli to rap on new album: "There's always a man that you love. There's always a man that you didn't love. There's always a man that you love to love, and a man that you love too much."
Human rights watchdog calls on governments to step up prosecution of hate crimes.
George Michael says the press is jealous of him: "Me, I don't want any children, I don't want responsibility. I am gay, I smoke weed and I do exactly what I want in my life because of my talent. I represent an ideal which others have had to let go and they blame me for that. Especially men."

Jason Knight, the petty officer second class who was discharged under "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" but called back to active duty and subsequently discharged again, says that the papers regarding his most recent discharge leave the door open for him to be called back to active duty: "I can’t do anything but laugh. It’s getting to the point of being ridiculous."
Former U.S. House Clerk Jeff Trandahl breaks silence on Mark Foley case: "Trandahl resigned from his post as House clerk and announced his new job in the fall of 2005, shortly after he began questioning Foley’s behavior toward pages in private conversations with both Foley and House GOP staffers. In his remarks last week, Trandahl refuted the speculation that GOP leaders forced him out of his job. He said he had long planned to retire after 20 years of government service and noted that his departure was set well before the scandal broke. Trandahl thanked former House Speakers Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) and Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) and current Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for supporting him during his tenure in the House. But he said former Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Texas) had long sought to oust him from the job because he is openly gay."

Hate crime at Pacha? That's funny considering half the staff is gay and the straight staff are all very gay-friendly. Something fishy about that story...and no, I don't work at Pacha, just know people who do and I find that odd.

Ah, Toby. I'd love to be your friend. You sound like a ball o' fun! Spending some QT with you must be real exciting; bitching and complaining about the humidity, the drinks I just poured you, how you haven't had a date in ages...Ah, you're charming!

firstly, those reduced sentence programs are available to all who commit non-voilent crimes, have good behavior and obviously can commit to the warrant offices requirements in their home setting.
But why are there all the stories of a medical condition being involved in the final decision. Violent or not, there are men and women dying of Aids who finish their sentences.
Let's call thiis spade, a spade. The Hiltons used their influence and money/connections and got their girl home.
CASE CLOSED. Until she pulls a Brandy Norwood and kills someone.

Jason Knight's story is hilarious and fascinating--I love how the Navy bureaucracy can't handle an openly gay man who was given an honorable discharge and they keep trying to reenlist him...

George Michael is an idiot!!! What has this ass done in the past 20 years that would warrant anybody being jealous of him. Another example of how drugs distort your perception of reality.

I'm glad to see that the NYPD is taking the incident at Pacha seriously...that club sucks, the music sucks and the staff are morons. I'm not entirely surprised.

why doesn't everyone serving in the armed forces organize themselves to come out all at once, easier said than done I realize...but statistically, 10-15 % gay and lesbians being dropped from the ranks wouldn't be feasible in Iraq...that'd be about 25 000 troops and a big blow...

The judge will probably get a free 45 days vacation on any Hilton Hotel of his choosing. What is really strange is that she even served 4 days. With her money she bought her way out, is as simple as that. The next bending of the law is the Lindsay Logan DUI and cocaine event. And, of course, nothing will happened. One more for the opposition.

All gays in the Armed Forces should come out at once. They are going to be discharged one by one, so, come out all at once and see what happens. Is the Armed Forces going to discharged all of them in one swoop?. Probably no. So the stupid Clinton policy of "Don't tell, don't switch" will have to be dropped once and for all.

Oscar they will ignore DADT if that happened. The military has had policies regarding gay servicemen since WWI. In every war they relax those rules so gay servicemen serve while during peacetime they discharge them.

I think Jason Knight is cute, plus smart - and perhaps orally talented: he's a linguist!

I for one am happy for Paris. I'm sure she is much more comfortable at home, even WITH that horrible ankle bracelet (I wonder if it came with different colors to match her outfits?).
See what a good psychiatrist and lots of money can do for ya? If she has any sense whatsoever, she's at home now drunk as a skunk having a non-stop party with Nicole filming it to make an extra few million.

Generally I don't give the benefit of the doubt to guys passed out in the toilet covered with their own puke. I'd like to see some proof that his ejection from the club was really motivated by anti-gay sentiment. We'll see.
As far as George Michael goes, he sounds like a slacker trying to justify his lack of self-control and his dissolute, empty life by pulling the old "I'm just a creative free spirit" schtick. George, you're a selfish stoner who can't get your shit together. That's it.

i agree with george michael. It bothers people he has money no spuse no chance of procreating why dhould he be a "respectable"member of the law. If he want to smoke and drink that is his buisnness. HIs points are right the media can't take him down and expose a new scandal its not a scandal if they don't deny it . SO they feel they lost out and take as many low blows as possible.
