road.jpg Isaiah Washington will join Larry King on Monday, July 2. Meanwhile, Washington has reportedly been in Talks with NBC about a possible deal, but those talks have stalled.

Abuhamzaroad.jpg TAB: Hook-handed convicted terrorist Abu Hamza realizes his nurse is gay after two years and is now refusing treatment. Source: "The nurse is upset about it. He has spent the last couple of years doing everything for Hamza, even wiping his bottom. It shows how little respect Hamza has for others. The nurse dresses him, washes him, cleans his teeth, cuts his toenails, trims his beard and applies ointment for his skin disorder. His nurse is open about being gay. He even speaks with a camp voice. His nickname is Queenie. Hamza has been refusing treatment while he is on duty but he won't be able to keep that up because it is causing him a great deal of discomfort."

road.jpg Democrats Tom Lantos (D-Calif.) and Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-N.Y.) urge State Department to rehire discharged gay Arabic translators: “We are writing to urge the Department of State to take a specific step — the hiring of our unfairly dismissed, language-qualified soldiers — so our nation might salvage something positive from the lamentable results of this benighted policy."

road.jpg Kylie Minogue fever hits Manchester as artifact exhibit arrives.

road.jpg Armistead Maupin talks about his keepsake dragon and the years he spent in Vietnam.

road.jpg CNN's Nancy Grace announces that she secretly married - with twins. 'Thank you, friend'.

Timmcgrawroad.jpg Tim McGraw also shows off his baby bump.

road.jpg Cult members not allowed: Tom Cruise banned from shooting hitler film in Germany because he belongs to Scientology. "The U.S. actor has been cast as Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, leader of the unsuccessful attempt to assassinate the Nazi dictator in July 1944 with a bomb hidden in a briefcase. Defence Ministry spokesman Harald Kammerbauer said the film makers 'will not be allowed to film at German military sites if Count Stauffenberg is played by Tom Cruise, who has publicly professed to being a member of the Scientology cult.'"

road.jpg Seattle Bears win Slog Pride Parade awards: "This two-sided float, created by Northwest Bears, was the crowd favorite. Hell, it made both of Seattle’s daily papers, displacing the usual shots of drag queens and half-naked lesbians on Harleys. Featuring a tub full of hairy daddies covered in suds, 'Bears, Bath and Beyond' was funny and sexy, camp and butch, and the unanimous choice of our judges."

road.jpg Contrary to some reports, The View has actually lost viewers since Rosie O'Donnell's departure, to the tune of 400,000: "According to figures obtained from Nielsen/Soundscan by our research department, 'The View' sank like a stone during the first two weeks of June, right after Rosie left. Indeed, 'The View' suffered a 13 percent decline in household ratings, and a 9 percent decline in overall ratings during the combined weeks of June 4 and 11 compared with Rosie's last two weeks."

road.jpg WWE star Chris Benoit in double homicide-suicide: "The details, when they come out, are going to prove a little bizarre."

  1. Go Germany! Scientology IS a cult.

    Posted by: Marc | Jun 26, 2007 1:30:52 PM

  2. I'm growing tired of this Scientology bigotry. Of course, it's a cult, because by definition any religion is. But the negative connotation that's always thrown with it is somewhat troubling. If people want to belong to a religion, that's there free choice. We shouldn't discriminate against them any more than they should against us.
*has Scientologist friend who is accepting of gays/world's biggest fag hag*

  3. Let Hamza rot.

Of course Nancy Grace got married - Satan was bound to give into her nagging harpie demands at some point.

Good for Germany. Since when was scientology a "religion?" Bryan: get a life and STFU.

  4. Nancy's wedding was lovely, I'm sure. I'd be surprised if her bouquet wasn't augmented by the severed testicles of all of the men she has falsely accused of various offenses over the years. Perhaps that was the "something borrowed" portion of the event... or was it "something blue"?

  5. Scientology is just fucking retarded. Anyone who takes that shit seriously has no brains at all. Tom Cruise is a sick fuck so congrats to Germany.

    Posted by: Tear | Jun 26, 2007 1:57:38 PM

  6. Exactly, Bryan. I'm always amused at the hypocrisy of those who trash Scientology and yet they, themselves, are also a member of a religious cult. If you think your belief in an invisible man in the sky is any more worthy of respect than someone who believes in aliens, you are delusional.

  7. seems Benoit killed his wife and kid and self due to roid rage.

  8. Also, Joan Crawf- I mean, Nancy Grace's spawn have my sympathy.

    Posted by: ck | Jun 26, 2007 2:10:16 PM

  9. Hamsa is a fool. He should have to wallow in his own feces and "skin disorder."

    Posted by: sam | Jun 26, 2007 2:17:15 PM

  10. "We're sorry, Tom, but you're just too crazy and fanatical to play a Prussian colonel"

The irony is Tom Cruise is partially ethnic German (on his maternal side).

    Posted by: John | Jun 26, 2007 2:29:22 PM

  11. yes, if people are going to trash scientology they need to trash all religions. seriously, how is it any worse? oh that's right, it's "new." if any of the world religions had been started today, with what we know about the world, they would all be considered crazy cults.

    Posted by: nycredneck | Jun 26, 2007 2:34:37 PM

  12. At one time Christianity was considered so bizarre and dangerous that adherents were routinely executed.

    Posted by: homer | Jun 26, 2007 2:38:16 PM

  13. CK: I don't mean to defy you, but the problem with scientology isn't a matter of beliefs. I know because I've been harrased by scientologists. It's true that some individual members of scientology don't seem idiotic or malignant. But others are, and the church of scientology definity is, and no one should have to tolerate it.

    Posted by: anon | Jun 26, 2007 2:43:14 PM

  14. Scientology is no more a religion than my dick is (feel free to kneel and pray if you'd like to make it one)...

    Posted by: Wayne | Jun 26, 2007 2:50:52 PM

  15. @anon

And I've been harassed ..err... witnessed to by christians - so what is your point? If they broke the law - then report them. Otherwise I fail to see how they are any different then those that believe that 2000 year old dead hippie will come back one day and take them to a magically paradise.

  16. c'mon girls, let's not crucify bryan. i think the real targets here are Hamza(yes-let him rot) and the MORMONS

    Posted by: bigggnasty | Jun 26, 2007 2:53:44 PM

  17. I'm not a scientologist nor a proponent and have my problems with Tom. However, I am a proponent for freedom, and have to wonder when it became okay to discriminate on the basis of religious belief. Oy! Talk about your slippery slopes!

    Posted by: KJ | Jun 26, 2007 2:55:49 PM

  18. Uh, KJ, it actually has to be a religion before your question has merit.

    Posted by: shane | Jun 26, 2007 2:59:36 PM

  19. The problem isn't that Scientology isn't respected. The problem is that other religions are.

    Posted by: Perceive | Jun 26, 2007 3:02:40 PM

  20. Germany is doing what the United States and every other country should do: refuse to recognize $cientology as a religion. It is a money-making enterprise, not a faith. I am all for freedom of conscience, including the freedom of (and the freedom from) religion - but one must draw the line somewhere. I think that religious people are going to have to get used to more restrictions like this as more and more nutcase sects arise. Ditto that if we're going to have a chance in combatting, controlling and reducing the growth of Islam in this hemisphere.

Now, on to Hamza. On the one hand, he's following the dictates of his religion by refusing to be touched or nursed by a homosexual. That doesn't make it right; Islam is clearly a backwards and ignorant religion. Homosexuals are to be punished by death under Islamic law, either by being thrown off the top of a tall building or by having a wall toppled over onto them. In Iran (and I suspect Saudi Arabia, too) homosexuals are stoned or hanged in public. Hamza should be happy that he's getting that level of nursing care at all, even from a homosexual. I know that there are senior citizens living in nursing homes who don't get as much care and attention. May he rot in prison. May he suffer horribly and die. I have no empathy for Hamza, who is a murderer, a terrorist and an advocate of faith-based terrorism. May he and his "prophet" never know peace.

  21. But on the other hand...I mean HOOK!

    Posted by: Brad | Jun 26, 2007 4:18:04 PM

  22. I despise Scientology. In fact, I actually burned the book on my back porch in college. Ah youth.

But the fact of the matter is that it IS a religion. All religions are ridiculous if you analyze them rationally. And they all proselytize and try to make money. Those freakin' televangelists rake in the cash!

So I cannot applaud Germany on its decision. I think their decision should be solely based on the fact that Tom Cruise is intolerably annoying.

    Posted by: Gregg | Jun 26, 2007 4:30:40 PM

  23. So hamza hasn't learned from the hypocritical fundie christians yet. You are supposed to hate and kill fags, but request them to be your nurses, your ghost writers on books (alla jerry falwel), have them design your clothes, cut your wives hair, run the gardening and home repair services that fix up your pad, etc.

    Posted by: anon | Jun 26, 2007 4:38:44 PM

  24. Give him time and he will be a hypocrite just like his brethern the fundie christians. Another day of pain and that gay nurse will look a-ok to him.

    Posted by: anon | Jun 26, 2007 4:40:37 PM

  25. The Hamza link doesn't work, so I can't figure out why he needs so much attention. Based on the old idea that diseases were an affliction from God for sins, Hamza should be reeling in shame. I doubt he is though.

    Posted by: anon (gmail.com) | Jun 26, 2007 5:10:25 PM

  26. The thing that separates Scientology from other religions is the fact that it's a money making scheme. People have to give and give in order to join/stay in the cult. The Big Three don't do that. Scientology is also as dicey as they come. Their practices are pretty fcking nefarious.

Jonathan, you obviously know little to nothing about Islam if you think it's a total backwards and ignorant religion. If it is, it's on the same plane as Xtianity.

But, alas, I'm atheist. A weak atheist, but an atheist nonetheless.

    Posted by: Seann | Jun 26, 2007 5:38:01 PM

  27. Can Hamza's Gay nurse be induced to stay on duty 24/7 until he enters Terrorist/Lintball Paradise?

    Just a thought.

    Posted by: mcquaidla | Jun 26, 2007 7:58:53 PM

  28. hook hand hamza is an evil evil man.....lets see how he likes wiping his own butt with his hook hand...maybe that will make him wake up to the pain his hatred causes.

  29. Who cares whether Scientology is realigion as opposed to a cult? The fact is, a goverment is restricting a person's freedom based his personal beliefs.

What kind of government tries to regulate what people THINK?
