Isaiah Washington on "Larry King Live" Tonight
Embattled actor Isaiah Washington will appear on "Larry King Live" tonight (9 p.m. on CNN) to give his side of the story about being fired by "Grey's Anatomy" last month. His L.A. publicist, Howard Bragman, was quoted in the New York Post as saying: "Everything is fair game. We didn't set any ground rules with Larry." (Too bad they didn't set a ground rule that Larry must actually listen what his guest is saying and not interrupt him every three minutes, but I digress.)
Bragman went on to say that "what a lot of people don't know is that Isaiah was gagged by ABC. That's one reason he can (now) do these interviews." Gagged? With all due respect to Mr. Washington's First Amendment rights, this man hasn't stopped talking since ABC dropped him -- and seems to be suffering from what is arguably the most well-documented case of foot-in-mouth disease in modern history. If I were Washington I would call for some serious public relations back-up. If Bragman is the flack who suggested this (latest) high-profile interview, one has to wonder if he's the same guy representing Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez's long-suffering wife. While the "best defense is a strong offense" plan may be appropriate in some cases, all I can think now is what are these people thinking?

Ten years from now, Washington and the other actors he used to work with will be LUCKY if they appear in a "Whatever Happened To..." program. And luckier still if the show says they're still in the business.
So, his appearing on CNN is news to talk about the firing? This is news? Priorities, people, priorities.

Jim he is going on Larry King. Not a news show at all.
Posted by: James | Jul 2, 2007 5:31:42 PM
he'll be on CNN, which has become the tabloid "news" channel... but, even in terms of fluff, hasn't this particular story been beaten to death yet ? so an actor's contract isn't renewed and his character is written-out of a series... happens every day .. no biggie. next time, just don't create a hostile work environment and maybe you'll keep the job. and his latest "i'm a big, scary black man being dissed by da man" routine is SO lame .. go whine on tavis smiley's show with that crap.

No need to hate on Mr. Smiley El Pol.

I can't imagine why you felt the need to promote Isaiah Washington's Larry King appearance this evening by posting it here. Hasn't this guy been given enough column space by now? You claim that "this man hasn't stopped talking since ABC dropped him", and yet here you are, nudging us towards yet another forum for him to air his self-serving, misguided and idiotic claptrap. Nicely done.

I can't wait to see Isaiah Washington tonight on Larry King! It's time justice was done! I propose a new show this fall: "Isaiah's World" Or maybe "Everyone Loathes Isaiah." Or "Here's Isaiah." Oh, did someone say something about Scooter Libby? Who's that?

More appropriately folks.......LOSING ISAIAH! .... For goddamn good!

CNN = Career suicide!
Remember, Paris Hilton was DROPPED from most of the networks for consideration for post jail interview. The majority of the American people DESPISE her. CNN was the only one who wanted her. The interview BOMBED.
I guess CNN = Career Nowhere Network!

Wake up Funme, over 3 million people tuned into Larry King's interview with Paris Hilton -- a huge spike in his ratings.
Isiah Washington is an overgrown orangutan.

hey boys and girls... it might be instructive -- or not -- to know that the Hollywood mega-flack for Mr Trenchmouth Isaiah Washington, Mr. Howard Bragman, is gay. just fyi...
Posted by: jayboy | Jul 2, 2007 9:49:09 PM
it's kind of ironic that howard bragman is representing this scumbag. bragman is gay as was just posted by jayboy. it just goes to show you that in that town money will erase any morals or sense of what's right or wrong. they can both go straight to hell...

I saw Mr. Washington on Larry (I have no shoulders)King.
I think he was trying to act human.
I think he failed.
His next booking will be on The 700 Club where he will be promoting his touring company of A Raisin In the Sun.
I thought it was interesting that Sandra Oh is supportive. Sandra Oh Sandra.....

i actually isaiah came across as a geniune human being. I was surprised at how sincere he was and hope he can put this behind him. Whenever I see the split screens with him and T.R. i just think T.R. is not aging well..saggy skin and weight gain. i guess karma is a bitch after all.

I agree with a previous comment: WHY would you even CONSIDER (let alone go ahead and do it!) giving this guy anymore media time? WHY? Is it because you want it both ways? Isn't that typical of, and what does it say about gay society?

If Adolph Hitler were represented by Mr Bragman, would it make the situation any less lethal?
Posted by: mattelboy | Jul 3, 2007 7:58:44 AM
Oh, God. SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!!!!! Just go away, Isaiah! No amount of whining, bitching and complaining are going to make up for your lack of talent and lack of professionalism. I could care less what color you are, and I expect so does everyone else. Just SHUT UP!

How many people died in Iraq while this was on? Does anyone care that Scooter Libby is a free man?
Apparently not to Larry King. Would someone please wipe his ass and put him to bed, preferably the kind with those little straps that hold the arms down.
Posted by: mark m | Jul 3, 2007 10:42:18 AM
Of course he *looked* and acted *human*...he's a fucking ACTOR people!!!
He did the best acting I have ever seen him do last night. Maybe he will win an Emmy.
He still blames everyone but the guilty party for his problems.
Does anyone here actually believe this man is getting **tons** of offers for movies and television??

I can't imagine why you felt the need to promote Isaiah Washington's Larry King appearance this evening by posting it here. You had the opportunity to talk about the last True Colors Concert in Los Angeles. I never witnessed so much love and respect for our community in my entire life, Cyndi Lauper is a true hero. Debbie Harry and the rest did an amazing job, and you choose this piece of scam instead???? Shame on you!
Posted by: Eric | Jul 3, 2007 8:43:41 PM
I couldn't agree more with Eric. Cyndi Lauper wrote on her own blog: cyndilauper.com
"Even though life isn’t always fair, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t stand up and say something when it is not right and unacceptable. It is something worth remembering. And as a friend and family member of the community I hope I can remind folks that ya got to stand up for the people you know and love. Hopefully this tour stirred and woke the hearts of as many as we can. Just like the people whose actions and words inspired me and woke me up… I am always in awe of the people of my country and their energy. We are all so different, so unique in our prospective that I think if our differences are lost, so are we. Because without many veiw points how will we survive the future?. Why silence a voice that might be the answer to a question we’ve been trying to figure out. If we could only learn to be inclusive of each other and our differences. If we could only stop trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Well maybe we’d be getting somewhere"
and you felt the need to talk about Isaiah?
Posted by: Gabriel | Jul 3, 2007 8:54:36 PM
oh shut the hell up all of you acting so "above it all" bitching that he's being mentioned here. You bitch that it was posted about when "there are soldiers dying in Iraq"-- yet here you are reading it and further commenting on it. I'm glad Isaiah's "If something doesn't go my way it's because I'm black and I'll sue you" attitude is getting press. Hopefully casting agents are paying very close attention to this pathetic mess. So many people bitched about Paris getting attention, too-- and dedicated entire talk shows about how she should NOT be talked about because "there are more important things going on in this world!"
Posted by: Mark | Jul 3, 2007 10:57:34 PM
I agree with Mark, "there are more important things in the world!"like supporting people who support your community!Yes, we have soldiers that are dying each day in our community! but we also have people who support our own beloved community and THAT to me is worth mentioning! True Colors Tour was about taking action against Hate Crime! and Isaiah or wherever his name WAS, is on the front page? Mark, get informed and please next time SHUT THE HELL UP YOURSELF!
Posted by: Gabriel | Jul 4, 2007 12:46:27 AM
Wow-- great point. I can see you're a real avid reader here, Gabriel. http://www.towleroad.com/2007/06/cyndi_lauper_on.html -- or is that not good enough? Maybe it should be the permanent top story?
Posted by: Mark | Jul 4, 2007 2:18:27 AM
Why did this "B" class actor play the black mans card!
Sad! There again if you don't have talent!
Posted by: Bazza | Jul 4, 2007 4:58:30 AM
Thank you for noticing Mark! On that article, Ms. Lauper was talking about being a Gay Icon. On Saturday, Debbie Harry,Erasure and the rest were passionately bringing a very important issue. HATE CRIME...That to me is more important because it does hit HOME!
