Wear Your Pride
I feel as though I've featured this before, but for those wanting to make a statement but not feel like Rainbow Brite, tipster Dave G. points us to this purdy in pink Gay Pride T-shirt on sale at Threadless. Meow.

I agree. Those shirts are much more Strawberry Shortcake than Rainbow Brite.

Forgive my density but what's with the lions?

I love Threadless, always buy my extended family gifts there (they carry XXL).

Lions are proud creatures, supposedly.
Posted by: Chris | Aug 8, 2007 5:07:49 PM
A pride of lions...get it?
Posted by: peterparker | Aug 8, 2007 5:10:49 PM
lions are on the shirt because a group of lions is called a 'pride.' a pink group of male lions = gay pride. very clever.

The phrase "not caught dead in" comes to mind. No thanks.

You guys are so smart.
Posted by: Wes | Aug 8, 2007 5:14:20 PM
heyyy, PeterParker. one of my nicknames is 'spidey.' hi.
Posted by: Nathan | Aug 8, 2007 5:16:14 PM
Er, that's an interesting set of models.
Posted by: Gregoire | Aug 8, 2007 5:47:51 PM
Love the shirt design. Refreshing to see models that look like real guys rather than over-plucked, over-waxed, barely-legal, pseudo-frat-boy wannabes.

I don't mean to be shallow, but...
wtf is going on with the boobs of the individual on the right?
Posted by: thin mint | Aug 8, 2007 6:58:49 PM
I don't mean to to be "not shallow" but I also appreciate the real people models
Posted by: petey | Aug 8, 2007 7:45:59 PM
I like, I am a LEO so I might have to get hehe.
Posted by: Travis | Aug 8, 2007 8:04:37 PM
Oh of course they are out of small! All the small queens have bought them up already! grrrrr
Posted by: Travis | Aug 8, 2007 8:05:38 PM
Boobs Mcgee need to be covered by the dirty blond with the glasses. Is that shirt sheer? It's almost like he's naked. No very flattering at all, at all.
Posted by: sugarrhill | Aug 8, 2007 8:30:05 PM
attention, those who feel the need to complain when presented with images of people they don't find attractive:
stop it. you're giving us all a bad name. why not try having a bit more depth and compassion in your life?
on a more positive note, i like the t-shirt and the picture. though i do kind of wish we gays had picked a different color for our banner. alas.
Posted by: humanist | Aug 8, 2007 9:03:11 PM
I think Boobs McGee is a womyn.

IS THAT A CLASS PICTURE OF THE NERDS WHO POST REGULARLY ON THIS BLOG? I THINK I RECOGNIZE LELAND AND PETER PARKER TO THE LEFT (THE PARTICULARLY OBESE ROTUND ONES)
TONY THE TIGER

I hope Andy comments on the rainbow-dog-tag wearing pic of his MIKA in the current V.F. Fashion Rocks issue.

Oh dear.
Do these people know what humans look like.
I can't stop laughing at the picture.
Those guys are in need of a make-over intervention.

love the inclusive comments re: the guys in t-shirts. probably not male models, I'd guess. and - what's wrong with that?
btw - threadless t-shirts are screened on American Apparel tees. Ever seen an AA ad? It's the anti-Abercrombie, anti-DNA look. DIfferent position in the fashion marketplace. Why make it/take it personal?
Posted by: resurrect | Aug 9, 2007 8:49:31 AM
ewww - that manboobs fatty should be wearing a xxxxl - that's so not a selling piont with that pic... YUCK!
Posted by: lost my lunch | Aug 9, 2007 9:02:27 AM
Speaking as a big boy myself or a yuck fatty as some of you would probably refer to me, that tight T-shirt on my fellow biggun' ain't a good look. But I think him and the animated fellow in the back with the knotted number are just being a bit droll that's all. Especially when take a gander at the 2nd pic on the linked paged and he's posing with his gut out.

GReat t-shirts! I like it!
Posted by: Allen | Aug 9, 2007 9:44:25 AM
Sheesh, and I thought all the rumors about gay men being shallow assholes weren't true. Silly me.
Travis: all the small queens didn't buy them. It was the pathetic fags who wear their clothes too tight (you bitches in Chelsea know exactly who I am talking about).
Posted by: shane | Aug 9, 2007 9:46:30 AM
OMG if anyone ever says the gay community has solidarity, I'm going to point them to the snipey queens at the Towleroad comments section LOL!
--The t-shirts are gorgeous and individual, not mass produced looking.
--The models are gorgeous, fat, thin, hipster, not, they're all gorgeous men--we're all gorgeous, people.
--The idea of a "Pride" of gay lions is a great graphic, and I thank Andy for pointing out this shirt!

Gosh, I love this tee - unfortunately, Threadless.com screens their men's tees on 50/50 FotL tees. Yucky feeling AND unflattering. Only girls or special "Threadless Select" tees are printed on American Apparel. It's too bad, really. If they printed everything on AA, I'd be buying three or four a week.

Thanks for the heads up Loudtalker I was actually going to try to rock this tee but the 50/50 FOTL is a deal breaker (FOTL?? Um...no!). The graphic is great though and kudos to Threadless for the "everyoneisbeautiful" pic.

I don't get what's so wrong about stating the obvious. Gay men have a tendancy to wear too tight shirts anyway which I find ridiculous. I'm definitely an advocate of dressing for your body type. I never said Boobs McGee was hideous. I said that the t-shirt wasn't flattering. The PC police need to chill the fuck out.
