In Heavy Rotation V.27

Here's something I used to do quite a bit around here. What I'm listening to these days. Any tracks not linked are not yet available on iTunes.
1. "CROCODILE" — Underworld
Something slightly religious about this dark reptilian work from Underworld.
![]()
2. "SMITHEREENS" — Annie Lennox
Annie's spare sanctuary is back again, ready to embrace.
![]()
3. "AMAZING" (Bill Hamel Stripped Mix) — Seal
On iTunes they've got Hamel's Vocal mix but I prefer it "stripped".
![]()
4. "AYO TECHNOLOGY" (Roberto Bedross Club Remix) — 50 Cent and Justin Timberlake
I didn't feel the original, but this mix gives it a lift.
5. "LET ME KNOW" (Joey Negro's Original Vibe Mix) — Roisin Murphy
Following up "Overpowered", the lead singer from Moloko's latest is catchy and elegant.
6. "LITTLE DITTY" — Deep Dive Corp
This one caught my ear off the most recent entry in the Hotel Costes series.
![]()
7. "BRING ON THE COMETS" — VHS or Beta
A fusion of electropop, dance, and indie-rock, this nugget digests easily.
![]()
8. "UNDER PRESSURE" — Keane
Off the recently released Radio 1: Established 1967 cover album, Keane does Queen.
9. "TEARDROP" — Jose Gonzalez
Gonzalez' meditative folk electronica does service to the Massive Attack classic.
![]()
10. "WRITER'S BLOCK" (Seamus Haji Remix) — Just Jack
Haji injects some flavor into Just Jack's rhythm and rhyme. Original on iTunes.
![]()
11. "SONG 4 MUTYA" (Kissy Sellout Remix) — Groove Armada
Electro-house producer Kissy Sellout plants one on this fine track from Groove Armada.
12. "TEARS DRY ON THEIR OWN" (Alix Alvarez Sole Channel Mix) — Amy Winehouse
An afterhours lounge vibe kicks this Wino track up. Original on iTunes.
![]()
13. "FADE AWAY" — Horse
Yes, her name is Horse. And she's got a gorgeous voice.
![]()
14. "FALLING DOWN" — Duran Duran
Timberlake's on backing vocals on this Timbaland-produced return to the fold.
![]()
15. "PROMISES" (Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve Re-animation) — Badly Drawn Boy
A sort of lullaby set to beats.

Minor correction: "Falling Down" was produced by Justin Timberlake, not Timbaland.

What I'm listening to these days? Callas, Pavarotti, and live broadcasts from the San Francisco Opera 1970-1981. Fabulous!

i've got about 30 gig of music on my iPod and found myself listening to the same stuff over and over. I finally build a smart playlist of music in certain genres (i screen out the showtunes cause my coworkers hate merman) and then set it to not play anything heard after date X (that date being the day after i built the list). I'm re-finding a lot of great music that hasn't cropped up in awhile. it's like discovering Amanda Marshall and Nancy LaMOtt all over again.

I love all of these.
There is an artist I can't stop listening to now, Roisin Murphy and her new song is "let me know" on i-tunes now.

Andy, I love Annie Lennox. Saw her in concert Wednesday night. She performed Smithereens. Extraordinary!
