road.jpg Homophobic vandals cause distress at Bard College at Simon's Rock : "Anyone wishing to see the poster and what was written on it can do so, said [residence director] Darcangelo, who keeps it in her office. 'Fags suck (cock)' was written on the poster in black pen, while 'homosexuals? Don't they belong in hell (being facetious)' was written in a nearby spot. Rich Vaden, a senior and president of QueerSA, learned the news from Graves' email. 'My head almost exploded,' he said."

road.jpg Bill Clinton lashes out at press coverage of Hillary: "Sixty-seven percent of the coverage is pure politics. That stuff has a half-life of about 15 seconds. It won't matter tomorrow. It is very vulnerable to being slanted and rude. And it won't affect your life...I would pick her and be here if we weren't married. One percent of the press coverage was devoted to their record in public life. No wonder people think experience is irrelevant."

  1. "Bill Clinton lashes out..."

Lashes? That's lashing out? Andy, shame on you.

  2. For the UMPTEENTH time; first OPENLY or OUT gay Minister/Congressman/City Councilman/Dog Catcher or whatever.

If anyone thinks that Ms. Yen is the FIRST gay minister in the history of Australia, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn I wanna sell ya.

  3. I must have missed all those blonds on my trip to Norway and Sweden a few years ago, it seemed like less than 25% of the people I crossed were real blonds.

And, go on Miss Ross, looking good for being in your 60's!

  4. Oh, and the Australian Capital Territory is NOT presenting a Gay Marriage bill it is presenting a Civil Union/Partnership bill.

Though a civil union bill will be a huge, wonderful and welcome step in the right direction there is a big difference between the social and political significance of marriage and "de facto" unions.

It does us no good to misrepresent or over state the facts.

  5. So, Wonkette takes aim at a guy with MD, but doesn't go down that road with the candidates who won't legalize medical pot? I have a real issue with anyone slamming the guy in the wheelchair when he's asking for relief. Pot should be legal, period, not just for medical purposes, but if you have to control everything then at least make it available as a prescription drug for those that need it! This type of issue, and the way it's covered really chaps my ass!

  7. Happy B-day Knut! He's still kinda cute.

And that must be Michael Jackson in drag.

And I dunno about where the blondes are (other than this one), but I DO know that we have more fun...

  8. Poor polar bear, he used to be cute and cuddly but not anymore

  9. Re: the Simon's rock incident. I think it's more complicated than you're reporting it. Why would the graffiti writers write "facetious" next to their statement if they were homophobic.

  10. It's interesting how people in general tend to believe in myths rather than facts. Norway just ranked among the top countries with high math and reading skills along with Canada and South Korea, I believe. Yet blonds are thought to be the dumbest of all people. Just thought I'd share that.

    And congrats, Miss Ross!!

  11. Re: Penny Wong - the "first gay person of either sex" to be a caabinet minister in the Australian parliament...
Well - no, not exactly. There have certainly been gay Oz pollies in the cabinet before now - just that they were all closeted.
Penny is the first honest, out, openly gay person - of either sex! - to land a cabinet role.
Fantastic woman - so much admiration for her - Go Penny!
