Battle of Attention Whores: Matos McGreevey Denies 3-Way Claim
In a statement to ABC News, Dina Matos McGreevey said that Teddy Pedersen's claims that she and former NJ Governor Jim McGreevey were involved in regular three-way sex trysts that they nicknamed "Friday Night Specials" are false, prompted by jealousy from her husband over the attention she has received since the Spitzer story broke.
"Theodore Pedersen's claims, as reported in the Newark Star Ledger on March 16, are completely false and were prompted by Jim McGreevey. This all has to do with the publicity I have received since Governor Spitzer resigned. Jim has enlisted one of his cronies in trying to distinguish that situation from his own, and to discredit me in the media. He cannot stand it when I am receiving attention in the media rather than him. This is not the first time. Jim started with a false claim, made shortly before my book was published, that I knew he was gay when we were married. The falsity of that claim is made clear on the very first page of Jim's book, just as his description of our relationship in his book stands in stark contrast to Pedersen's false allegations. Jim again became the focus of the media's attention, just one day after my book was released by announcing his intention to become an Episcopalian priest. Jim has had a close relationship with Pedersen since his days as Mayor of Woodbridge, and arranged jobs for Pedersen from that time through his years as Governor and beyond. They have continued their close relationship since Jim left office. Most recently, in August 2007, Jim and his partner, Mark O'Donnell, funded Pedersen's vacation to China, along with Jim, O'Donnell, and other members of Jim's inner circle. This was obviously payback time for Pedersen."
Jim McGreevey told the AP today that the Friday Night Specials did happen: "McGreevey said the encounters happened, but the couple needs to move forward for the sake of their 6-year-old daughter. 'This happened, this happened in the past, and now we need to move on with our lives,' McGreevey said."

I think Matos is full of it and has been full of it from the very begining of their relationship. She knew about McGreevy prior to marrying him. EVERYONE in New Jersey did. She was willing to overlook it to accomplish her own nefarious goals.
She has played victim very well but she used McGreevy every bit as much as he used her. He wanted a beard and she wanted a man to provide her with the wealth, power and privilege that she was too lazy to work for and earn on her own. Somehow people consider his actions shameful and hers normal operating procedure. I think they are both shameful and they deserved each other for the period of time that they used each other.
Now they need to stop think of themselves (primarily Matos) and start thinking 100% about their daughter. They need to move forward taking care of their own business and finances independently while jointly taking care of and jointly sharing time with their daughter.
I think it's bizarre that Matos calls McGreevy an attention whore when SHE shamefully interjected herself, unasked, into the tragic circumstances of the Spitzer family. She was, is and always will be an opportunist. That shouldn't win her a free meal ticket for life.

The McGreeveys and their power-fixation and famewhoring are an embarassment to NJ. I'm tired of hearing about them and their lies. If I were their divorce judge, I'd give custody of their daughter to the state. That'd be the ultimate irony.

here's the backbite to the - "why does she stand by her cheatin' man" meme that's been running in the NYT and other media outlets. everyone assumes "she" is innocent, naive and gullible - more sexist stereotyping of the political wife. "she" knows what's going down and is as complicit in the game as he is - even if she's in denial about it.
as far as Dina goes, clutch the pearls babe - I'd hate to see 'em scatter as you're getting banged at both holes.

My, my but aren't we all so even handed about this.
McSleazy is the lowest form of scum there is. His wife may be everything everyone thinks she is but the real piece of shit here is Jim McCreavy.The networks went to Mato's, because she is a wife of a resigned slimeball politician, they could care less if she knew or didn't, they just wanted another talking head to put on the air.
But Jim McCreavey had to show just what a slime sucking swamp scum he really is by confirming this little tramps(Pederson) story, knowing it would get him attention again, and then to proclaim it was time to move on because of his 6 y/o daughter is about as slimy as a peerson could get. He has never cared what he said about his ex-wife in the public areana or how that would affect his child in the past, why start now.
None of these people deserve so much as a micro second of our time or attention. If Jim McCreavy was hanging on to the top of a 60 story building by his fingernails and only I could save him, he would die. And the scumbag Pederson could go right down behind him. This from a person who feels all living things are scared by the way.

Um, JOSHUA, I don't think ANYONE here has EVER claimed that McGreevy wasn't an asshole and a slime ball. I don't even think HE has claimed anything other than that. For God's sake he wrote a whole book about what a slimeball he was letting everyone know the gory details.
Dina on the other hand has played the delicate, innocent victim through all of this. She has played every sympathy card in the deck, especially the poor woman card. She hasnever been honest about why she married McGreevy even though just about everyone who knew her in the past says that she is a social ladder climber, gold digger and opportunist who was drawn to McGreevy's wealth, power and position. She, EVEN NOW, is claiming that she is due punitive damages for the time SHE lost living in the Governor's mansion after McGreevy resigned. Does that sound like a person whose main attraction to their husband was his heart, soul and body?
So drop the faux outrage that people are being unfair to Dina. We've all spent over a year beating up on him and feeling sorry for her but over time we're starting to see that she is JUST AS EVIL as he is and she has been showing it more and more lately.
I'm sorry if it makes you uncomfortable that some people actually believe that people with vaginas can be evil too.
